Visual Filter for what to do and not do

I was creating a visual filter today for imperatives using @V??M

Using the filter shows things to do and not to do.

I thought I'd create another filter that showed things "not" to do using @BN WITHIN 2 WORDS @V??M

Of course, when running the two filters at the same time, verses like 1 John 2:15 will show both filters on the word "love." So, I decided to try and tack on a limiter to my first filter that removes all imperatives that are next to negative adverbs. However, I'm not sure how to do that. Essentially, I want to say "Highlight @V??M unless it is near @BN"

How do I do that?

Goal: two visual filter. One shows what to do and one shows what not to do, with no overlapping.

Media Resources in Passage Guide

In passage guide I get a message saying "We haven't finished this feature yet, Check back in a future release!" It seems odd that this works on the iPad app but not in the Mac app. Do we have any idea regarding when this will be implemented?

Is Build Book Button Always Grayed Out?

I noticed that the Build Book button int he PBB is always grayed out. Is that the case with others? It works when I click it but the look of it made me wonder why it wasn't function. I clicked it anyway just to sed if it would work anyway and it did. This seems odd.

The commentary JE used most was Philip Doddridge's "The Family Expositor". Edwards' Blank Bible is littered with all kinds of quotes from Doddridge's Family Expositor. The Expositor is an amazing work. It is a paraphrase of the NT with study notes. Essentually it's the puritan version of a study Bible. It was released yesterday for community pricing. Bulk Star Ratings Not Working

I've reproduced this on two computers so far. In 4.5b SR-1, while in the library panel, I select multiple books (whether by ctrl-A, or shift-click) and it gives the option to "set the same rating for all". Problem is, there's no place to click on a star rating and actually set it. I can clear ratings without a problem.

Can anyone else reproduce this?

A Plea for a Functional "Biblical Places" on Mac

I have reported bugginess with Logos for Mac's Biblical Places before, but it continues to be a very buggy aspect of Logos for Mac. Therefore, I am pleading with you, Logos, to make this aspect of Logos for Mac functional.

As it stands now, Biblical Places jumps, jolts, and stutters whenever I lookup a city/place. If I attempt to change maps it zooms way out, spikes my Mac's processor for several seconds, and then jolts all over the place before finally zooming in. I can't even scroll through the maps at the bottom of the Biblical Places screen without encounter stuttering. And I can't tell you how frustrating it is to have to go through eight zooming, stuttering, spasmatic map changes to find the one map you want/need. Yes, I can preview the maps by hovering, but I rarely find the best map on my first couple of attempts.

I appreciate the functionality that Biblical Places is attempting to provide (i.e. measuring of distances, linking to google earth, showing the relationships between maps, etc). However, at this point a simple slideshow format to the maps would be much better for study. All I want to do is access the maps I have in my library, but I cannot. At this point, the functionality of the Logos "Atlas" is actually worse than using a dead-tree version.

Therefore, I ask: Isn't this program supposed to be saving my time? As it stands now it takes me five minutes to do what I can do in a book in about 30 seconds with a ruler.

This seems like such basic functionality for a Bible program, I cannot believe I am even having to ask for this to be fixed.

Can't download Logos 4 for PC

Hi there,

Just purchased the original languages library, trying to download Logos 4, but when I click on the PC version, the message 'setup was unable to download a required file' appears, and download cancels :(

Any ideas what's going on?

I am looking at EX 31.10 and the sample holy garments. I am not seeing the Absolute designation for the word holy. I have a screen shot, is there another place in LOGOS I can see this parsing?

Is the word 'normal' in the parsing mean Absolute ?

Logos 64 bit

This may have been covered in another post, but I was unable to find it.

Does Logos plan on going to 64 bit on Mac? I do not know the nuances of 32 vs 64 bit and how it handles memory, but was under the impression that 32 bit apps can only utilize a certain portion of memory (say 4GB?).

If Logos were a 64 bit, would that allow for greater utilization of memory and this improve the speed a bit? Just curious.

Also, are there any plans to allow Logos to become full screen in Lion?

Can someone remind me... or: LOGOS, how do I get the books I've paid for?

I don't want all the regressions in 4.5b. They seem to far outweigh any possible gain. So I haven't updated.

Only, Logos doesn't allow us to choose what to download... So by now I have at least 3 prepubs, some Vyrso books, and quite possibly some resource updates waiting in the queue, and I'm beginning to want them...

Can someone remind me exactly what happens when a software update is downloaded? There is an Install button to click for it as well as the one for the resources, right? So I should be able to download everything, and then delete the software update before it's installed, right? Or will the update download first, and nothing else come through until and unless the update is installed?

Logos: this really highlights the problem with these forced 'everything-or-nothing' downloads. We need to get control of our own downloads!

Loaded Logos on a new MacBook Air and it crashes on opening

I downloaded Logos to put on a macbook air. The program downloads without a problem. I try to open the program and an error log pops up. I ws able to download it on a MacPro, about 5 years old and it opens without a problem.

I would like to have it successfully installed on the laptop.

Highlighting and copying text from the footnotes

Hi guys, I'd really appreciate if you'd made this possible. I know that if I copy text containing a footnote, I can choose to copy also the footnoting, but I sometimes I want to highlight or copy text from the footnotes only.

Morris Proctor Training DVD Questions

I had a couple questions about the Camp Live DVD's:

On Morris Proctor's website it states that the DVD includes more than 7 hours of video. Since the live training are 2 days long what is missing from the DVD's?

You can also purchase the DVD's with or without the syllabus. How necessary is the syllabus?

Notes Available on Mobile Platform

I am new to Logos and this is maybe an option already and I don't know. It would be great if we were able to access all of our notes and highlighting on our mobile devices. This is a feature that I used with Olive Tree's software and it was very helpful.

Does Logos 4 have a weights and measures function...

Question About Personal Book Builder

I built a book with 0 errors and 0 warnings. When I open the book I see some horizontal lines in the scrollbar. When I mouse over them I can see the text. I took a screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/vupTA.png

It looks like a bookmark or something. I don't see anything in the word doc that would designate these sections as special.

Does anyone know how to remove them?

SUGG: move verse to top of page

Sometimes when I am reading a passage it will go into the next page, if its 2/3 of way down the page

If I type the reference in to the Nav bar it just shows me where the verse is on the page

In normal (columns NONE) mode you can use the scroll bar for fine control. NO PROBLEM

But when you have multiple Columns (1-Auto) you lose the scroll bar, and scroll pages instead, so in order to get verse to the top of the page quickly in "Auto Column" view you have to navigate away afrom the page with the verse on it and then type in the reference in to put the text you want to the top of the page. IS FRUSTRATING

Please consider scrolling the text to the top even if it is on the same page (my preference), or alowing on Right click of verse number a "Move to top of page" function

I guess I might be only one who would find this useful as I dont recall seing it requested before

Status: Hebrew Audio Pronunciations Pre-Pub

We just don't know. But it's getting closer.

We put this project on pre-pub prematurely, before we realized all the ways in which offering this for Hebrew are more complicated than for Greek. We've had enough interest to do the project -- and we want to do it -- but it's tied to some complicated issues related to how Hebrew dictionaries use different 'dictionary forms' (and are not always consistent between dictionaries and morphological analyses). It's not quite as easy as the Greek pronunciations.

The "gating issues" and the work that must be done in preparation are largely done, but some work remains, and we're still some months out on this project. We just didn't want to cancel it because we do intend to do it, though it's taking much longer than any other pre-pub.

new vyrso problem on iPad

Library refuses to finish downloading on iPad, and no option to search. It stays on edition:e. Will happily function with what's available, but I want to check whether I have a Logos Hebrew Testament downloaded. Haven't tried going into aeroplane mode, as that won't help if I need to download the book. Have killed the app, but not done a complete shutdown, as I'm actually halfway through my Bible study session....

Vyrso has been behaving in an exemplary manner so far. Library working fine on iPod.

Any ideas? Anyone else had the joy of this problem?

Hiding Book=Removed from Hard Drive but Still Online

I'm not 100% sure if it works this way or not, but it would be nice. In Logos 4, when I decide to "hide" a book from the Library using the Settings panel, it'd be great if the books themselves would remove themselves off my hard drive, but if I "unhid" the books using the settings pane, automatically connect to Logos.com and re-download the books off the Internet. With Vyrso, I can see me purchasing and reading some books one time through the Vyrso apps or even Logos 4, but some of the books I won't want to keep in my Logos library searchable. I'll read them and want to remove them off my hard drive. So being able to "hide" books and have them removed from my hard drive to free up disk space would be great, knowing always that if I needed the book back in my Logos library, I could "unhide" the book and have it re-downloaded to my Logos library anytime. Similar to iTunes in iCloud. All of my audio files are "in the cloud", but if there's audio files I'm only going to listen to once or a few times, I can delete them off my hard drive, knowing if I ever need the file again, one click and it's there.

Help! Creating a Bible Reading Plan

I was reading a blog post and the author mentioned a Bible Reading Plan that I would like to use. The plan is found here. Any suggestions how I can re-create this in Logos 4? It lasts 52 Weeks and has the reader cover a different genre each day, thus preventing someone getting bogged down in the begats for a week. If anyone can give some pointers I would appreciate it.

Can anyone at Logos give any indication of when the Hebrew Audio Pronunciations will be available? I have had it on preorder now for about 4 years... and it still just says "under contract". I know there were major issues in getting it to work with Logos4, but the Greek was out long ago. I would nice to have some estimate, and know that it really is going to happen.
