With the latest update installed for L6 (today, 04/07/2015), when I now go to add a note to a word, I no longer have the option of formatting the text.  The only options I now have are Highlight with Note color, or No Highlight.  The options were there yesterday.

Why did all the other options get removed?

Can you please bring them back?

Rick Blankenship:

Are you referring to the options shown below?

and you are saying you don't have anything after "no highlight"?

In which case please open your Highlighting Panel (from the Tools Menu) and see if the various highlights are still there.

Graham,

That is correct...no options after "no highlight."

I do have my Highlight template, and all looks normal there.

I also checked existing Notes attached to various words, and when I go to edit the highlights, again, there are no options past the "no highlights" option.

Rick, I don't understand what is going on here.

If you don't get any other thoughts on this thread I suggest you contact Customer Services

On the advice of Graham, I contacted Tech Support.  They are not able to replicate my problem. I have upgraded from Maverick to Yosemite -- still no palette within Notes.

I have created a log; however, I don't know what this will do since one day the palette was there, and the next day it wasn't.  Can't really replicate the error.  It is just there.  But the logs are attached.1145.LogosLogs.GIFKG.20150409-063846.zip

If someone can figure this out, I would be very grateful!

Blessings & Shalom!

There are some profile statistics for the Notes database on Markup (Highlighting) information, which may indicate a problem but I can't be sure. I suggest going back to Tech Support and refer them to this thread.

How extensive are your highlights and how big is the database at /Users/GIFKG/Library/Application Support/Logos4/Documents/mthcs817.y1s/Documents/Notes/notes.db?

Hi Rick

Just a thought and something to check

What you are describing is expected behaviour for notes created "by reference" as opposed to "by selection".

Is it possible that the notes you are seeing this on have been created by reference to a verse as opposed to tied to a particular word or phrase?

Graham,

Actually, Tech Support thought that as well, and I was able to show them the difference between the "selection" and "reference" options.  I have definitely been selecting the "selection" option when adding my note.

Tech Support called and let me know they found the bug in the system and it isn't just my computer.  They are working on it, but no estimate for a fix date.  When all is fixed, I'll report back.

Thanks, Graham for helping!

Blessings & Shalom!

Hey folks,

Thank you for reporting this issue. I apologize for the inconvenience this may be causing. We're currently aware that there is a bug in version 6.2, preventing the typical highlighting options from appearing on the Note Styles menu for some users. The development team is investigating this issue and we hope to have a resolution soon.

If you're affected by this bug, please reply to this thread, and include your Operating System Version, and the version of Logos you are using (presumably 6.2).

Thank you for your patience as we work this out.

-Mike

I'm so thankful to Graham Criddle for pointing me to this thread. I was having trouble describing this same issue with Notes in another forum. I am running Yosemite 10.10.3 and Logos 6.2.0.0027. I hope this sufficient!

Thank you

Galen

This should be fixed in 6.2 SR 1.

Dylan (and the Logos Team),

Thanks for fixing this problem!  I truly do rely on this feature on a daily basis!  This morning, after my latest update with Logos, all is back to normal.

Blessings & Shalom!

Rick
