Something strange is happening to the Lexham Press sale prices. My discounted prices have more than doubled since yesterday. Should have bought them yesterday I guess!

Eg Preaching and Teaching bundle was $36 for me yesterday but $86 today. Looks like the 60% discount has been lost.

The prices I'm shown have increased as well - no longer discounting after calculating Dynamic Pricing.

I wonder if it is yet another Marketing department lack of integrity?

Most of the bundles show no discount ... this one would have a 60% discount of 384.17 off the full price ... but I  already own £337.83 so they have simply taken what I own off the 60% discount ... Result I have a 60% discount paid for by me!!! (384.17-337.83 gives 46.34!)

My effective discount is 46.34 out of 302.45 new to me ... 15% ...

They were having problems with the code that determines pricing calculations lately. Call sales to be sure.

The mathmatics just doesn't had up as it cheaper to buy my remaining book separately than in the bundle! This imbalance is also in the other bundles.

Martin, that's a strong statement but I have always seen FL respond when "errors/mistakes/bugs" have been pointed out. Wait and see as it is always fixed.

I am learning to wait till about the 3rd or 4th day to see if all pricing stabilizes.

They wouldn't have problems with it if they stopped messing with it (and perhaps started adding features many have asked for, like "New to You" on all bundles, not just base packages). After looking at a couple of these sales, I can see what they're trying to do.

First, I'm having the same issue as mike regarding the OT bundle.

No sale beyond dynamic pricing. Not really a sale, but it may be that their pricing program is broken.

I'm also seeing the same thing as Martin Folley on the Preaching and Teaching bundle:

What they're doing is using dynamic pricing against us in the sale. The more resources you already own in the bundle, the lower your actual effective sale price is. For me here, I get $154.33 off, but it's really off of $554.32, because I already own $445.67 of this bundle. That's a 27.8% discount. Martin Folley is actually getting a 15.3% discount. Doesn't seem fair to him as he's invested more in these products and gets less to show for it (i.e. he and I would pay the same amount of total dollars, and he'd get fewer resources from the bundle).

Now, a discount is a discount, and I'm grateful when I can purchase things that I'm interested in at less than full price, and perhaps this isn't what they intended. But based on the verbiage and the 60% "target" discount, I anticipate that this is exactly what they wanted to do.

Do any of you get academic discounts? Because what you describe looks like how the academic discounts work (one sees the cheaper of dynamic price or academic discount price, but they don't stack up). If not, maybe that's the error because normally they don't use it like this - and for Lexham-published resources it can't be the bad contract they got from a large global publisher.

I do not; I've never been a part of the academic pricing program.

I am not part of the academic pricing program either.

Below is screen shot of my Preaching and Teaching bundle custom discount.  Just like Martin Folley and William Gabriel's, it appears the modus operandi is to extract another $399.99 or in an equivalent currency irrespective of how much products in pricing you have already own.

If that is the pricing model, to stretch the illustration, hypothetically if one owns products priced at a mere $10.00, then do you still ends up paying $399.99 for the rest of the bundle ?  Surely not, I hope, otherwise where is equity or logic. Huh?

Anyone know when this sales ends?

Thinking of getting the EEC have the 8 vols.  --- But its hard to invest in something thats many hundreds of dollars and you dont actually get any of it now.

You are correct! They are punishing those who already bought Lexham resources. You only get the full 60% off if you have not purchased any of the resources.  The more you own, the lower your sale discount

Whether it is intentional or a coding error, it is very bad practice.

There was some very strange pricing on products too... for example, the Discourse Hebrew Bible (6 vol.) by itself was about $180, but $30 cheaper if I bought the Greek & Hebrew Bible (12 vol.) where I already own the Greek.

Same thing with one of the volumes in the full Greek discourse bundle. I didn't have one of the books in it, but it was cheaper to get the bundle than the individual volume. You'd think they'd be the same price in or out of the bundle.

I think the Lexham discount issue might be intentional because I was getting the correct sales discount taking into account dynamic pricing yesterday, but all my prices have gone up 60% today. So looks like a manual intervention overnight.

I think it is an error as the first three titles do not show a dynamic price for me whereas the final two do:

Lexham Press Summer Reading Bundle (10 vols.) 63% discount
Lexham Press Historical Theology Bundle (22 vols.) 92% discount

Intentional or not, I am not buying from the Lexham sale unless it gets fixed.
