Syntax search results highlighting on english addition resource

Not in the current beta (4.0b). But it's definitely needed.

I just noticed this as well. I have been working through some of the old L3 syntax tutorials in L4 and saw that in L3 the ESV was highlighted. It would sure be nice to have that in L4. There may be more pressing issues and I would not want the Logos team to take time away from them; but when you can get to this feature it would be appreciated.

I've suggested this a few times, but no joy...evidently washing Bob P's motor home all those times was all in vain... [:(]

Anthony, try posting it again in the PC beta forum. It seems to have been missed the first time around by Logos staff, and sometimes older threads resurrected don't get their attention as well.

This is on our list to fix.

I have posted a follow-up to include bible and morph search in addition.
Request: Bible, morph, and syntax search use color-highlighting in...

Thanks Lauren.
Bump Reminder. Mr. P, said (above) this was on the list of fixes. Is this addressed in the next beta that is in RC now?
This finctionality is missing from several areas that would seem to me to be a natural "default visual highlight function" when searching standard, Bible, Syntax or Morph.

Wow I so miss this feature from Logos 3....and to think it's been on the "list" Bob referred to for at least sixteen months! I can't say I am optimistic but I sure hope I am proven wrong. I would love to see this soon as well.

Logos 4 syntax search results do not color-highlight the addition english resource, only the original lang. results.
Since this thread has become active again, I'd like to point out that there are severe limitations on where this can be done accurately.
- the English translation must be connected to the original language through an interlinear (or with slightly more complex logic a reverse interlinear)
- the interlinear has to align with the version used for the semantic search
- the user expectation needs to be managed so that they do not expect it to work accurately unless conditions 1 & 2 are met.
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

Thanks MJ,
That's good to know and it should be understood that it is specific to the resources' inter-link to the original languages and not just willy-nilly everywhere.

Thanks for the explanation, but I hope Logos isn't in paralysis mode on this feature trying to make it more 'perfect' because of some of the issues you cite. I would be very happy to just have what we had in Logos 3 (years ago for that matter). It should be easy to infer that the feature is most useful for those not literate in the original language, as the experts don't need the translation help. Hence it does not appear to be an "academic" feature.
All that said, at the risk of redundancy - just give us what was in Logos 3 - please!

Bob how long is this list? When I had something and then its taking away does not fill good. Please look into this problem of syntax search results highlighted in english bibles.

Will this ever be fixed?

Some time ago, we developed an implementation that we didn't ship because it was too slow.
This last week, a programmer wrote code that speeds up the alignment of different Bibles (which is required to implement this search highlighting across translations). That was a key requirement in implementing this feature.
So it is under development, but I can't give an estimate of when it will be available.
