I recently purchased Logos 4.  I wanted to use some resources that aren't available on Logos 4 yet, but haven't got the discs yet.  Is there a way to download the resources so that I can use it with Libronix 1.1.2 or do I have to wait for the disc?

There's no easy way. Your options are...

1) You could go to ftp.logos.com and find the book files you want and place them in 1.2.2's resource folder. This can be difficult because it's not always obvious from the filename what the book is.

2) You can search for titles on Logos.com for the books you want to download, there are usually links to the ftp book files on the product pages

3) You could install the Windows version of Libronix on a Virtual Machine, run the appropriate update script from here: http://blog.logos.com/archives/2009/12/using_your_new_logos_4_resources_in_logos_3_or_logos_for_mac_1.html and then copy the book files over to your native Mac installation.

4) eschew downloading and get the Logos 4 resources for 1.2.2 media http://www.logos.com/products/details/5594

Sir,

I am running snow leopard and have a similiar question.  What if I want just to copy them ALL over to the 1.2.2's resouce folder?  I do not have a clue where the ''resource folder'' is for LBS 4 for Mac alpha.  Where can I find the book files in general?  thank you

Logos 4 introduced a new file format for books (.logos4) while still reading the old format (.lbxlls) Logos for Mac 1.2.2 cannot read the new format so if one was to copy the resources from a Logos 4 installation most, if not all, would not be readable by the old program.

so in essence you are saying if I want to use the new books I would have to buy a new resource disk (I know I can read them in the alpha but I'm talking about footnote ability and other small and loveable features)?

Yes, unless you are willing to poke through ftp.logos.com server to download the books you want in the old format or run a PC installation of Libronix and use a download script to get the book files and then copy them to the Mac 1.2.2 resource folder.
