Is it possible when studying an OT book, e.g. Jonah, and from that book locate quotations from and allusions to Jonah in the NT?
Hi Martin,
I'm sure there are multiple ways to do this and our MVP's will have some great advice, but one way you could do it is by using the resource Old Testament Quotations and Allusions in the New Testament by David Jones and scrolling to the section marked Jonah. I think this book might only be sold as a part of a base package or collection as I couldn't find it listed individually. If you do have it, clicking on Jonah above will open it for you.
Looks like there are quite a few entries.
Hope that helps.
Thanks very much. This was indeed helpful.

In addition to the above advice, you might be interested in a bells & whistles trick I got from the Forums a few years ago:

What this will do is create a Visual Filter (I made mine as a red vertical line in the left margin) that marks the OT where it is quoted in the NT. You would then know when to check a resource like the one above or look at cross-refs. This would be more for alerting you during regular reading.
I used the same logic for showing in the NT where the OT is quoted (since the ESV doesn't all-cap these as the NASB does), but used a different highlight style (blue vertical line).
I have since acquired the resource above, so I intend to merge the passage lists from it into my existing lists on which the filters are based.
