B10 Release Notes:
On a new installation, automatic downloading of updates can be disabled when selecting a “Custom” install.

When doing a custom installation of Beta 11 to new Desktop there was no offer to disable automatic downloading. I still had to perform that manually from the L4 UI.

You should have seen a checkbox labeled "Automatically download updates", checked by default, on the Choose Setup Type dialog:

If you uncheck the checkbox, you won't get automatic downloads by default. Note that this "Choose Setup Type" dialog is only available the first time you install Logos 4 on your computer, otherwise your installation directory is already set and this dialog is not displayed. When Logos 4 runs for the first time, "Automatically Download Updates" should be set to No:

It sounds like you installed on a new desktop computer so you should have seen this dialog. The feature was made available with Beta 10 and should be in Beta 11, which has a the version number 4.02.3.6685.

What is the version number of your Logos 4 (Help > About Logos Bible Software)?

Please find your logos4setup.log and DigitalLibraryInstall.log files, post them back here and I'll have a look. If you have logging enabled, you can find these file in your Documents' Logos Log Files folder (i.e. depending on your OS either C:\Users\<user>\Documents\Logos Log Files or C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\My Documents\Logos Log Files) otherwise in your Temp folder's Logos Log Files folder (either C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Temp\Logos Log Files or C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Temp\Logos Log Files).

Thanks,

Bryan

It was a first-time installation and it was Beta 11. However, it is possible that I missed the check box as illustrated because I was expecting it within the Custom dialog ie. I pressed the Custom button "immediately" because that is my usual method of installation!

I did notice the check box when installing B12, but it was within the Custom dialog ie. after selecting Custom! And it worked as expected.

Thanks,
