My pastor, formerly a BibleWorks user, is just getting started using Logos. He only has the Bronze pkg and I'm encouraging him to get Gold or better, but he first wants to make sure that he likes and will use Logos. How would you suggest that he proceed with the FREE training resources available? Would it be best to begin with, say, the Quickstart Logos 6 Reading List? Should he jump into the new 30-day training? Or is there a better way?

This has probably already been asked and answered somewhere. If so, please point me in the right direction. Thanks!

Hale Cale,

I'm using the software since the Libronix era... I just finished the 30-day challenge and I can tell you that I learned a lot.  I highly recommend it...

I am a recent new user and I can tell you what I have done.

First, I watched and followed along with the Quick Start videos that show up on the home page.  These are wonderful!  Morris Proctor is a very effective instructor.  These give a great overview of what is there and will whet his appetite for more!   Skipping these and starting with the 30-Day Challenge is probably an acceptable choice, but the Quick Start videos are short, quick demonstrations on what can be done.  I highly recommend them.

Also, I am doing the 30-Day Challenge Logos Training.  These are very useful.  There are exercises that go with them and doing those will help seal in the knowledge he is gaining.

Please note the following:  I believe that some of the information in the Quick Start videos will show some things that are not included with the Bronze package, but Morris will be quick to say "Now don't panic if your screen is not just like mine."  I actually upgraded to Bronze from an older version of Logos (either 3 or 4 - I am not really sure).  Then I did what is called a "Feature Crossgrade" because I wanted all of the features but was not as interested (mostly my wallet was not interested Crying) in the additional resources that come extra with Gold.  This may be a consideration.  In theory, the dynamic pricing protects users when they step up to new packages a little bit at a time.

I hope others will chime in!

Dean

Bronze package includes reverse interlinear Bibles so visual filter highlighting of Greek verbal expression can be done.

Should he jump into the new 30-day training?

The 30 day training includes Logos Now subscription features along with Bible Study example => https://www.logos.com/30-day-training that could help provide incentive for Gold or better.

Any questions during 30 day training can become forum threads for discussion.

Keep Smiling Smile

Thanks, guys,  for your responses! Any suggestions for what to do after the 30-day challenge would also be appreciated. Smile

Some of this might be a little dated, but it is all excellent.
