Is this a good combination or not please? What is cheap or inexpensive and runs Windows 10/Logos well these days please? I would like to spend less than $650 dollars please.
I would recommend:
500 GB Hard Drive.
8 GB Memory
Intel i5 Processor
15" Screen.
From Tigerdirect.
Logos recommended hardware.

Lynden,
Josh wants a tablet or a 2 in 1, not a laptop.
Josh, you'll be hard pressed to find a Miix for under $650. You actually can get one with 8 GB of RAM at Costco for $549 if you are a member, but it only has a 128GB SSD. For my size of library, I need 256GB. If your library is smaller, it may work. I am not sure about the pen functionality of this tablet, which as you know, is very important to me. The Core M processor will run Logos fine. I have a Dell Venue Pro 11 with the Core M and it runs Logos well.
Lynden and Bill, thanks for much for your gracious replies. I am seeking to replace my original Surface Pro (a clunker as we all know...overheating, etc). I like to detach the keyboard and roam about the house, etc...and then return to my desk/office for a better keyboard and larger screen experience. I know I am spoiled...but I am hoping to get a better Logos centered Tablet that will not break the bank and yet still run well. Dell Venue 11 seems too thick and heavy I think...but I so appreciate the feedback one and all. Anyone else?
For reference..this would be too cheap and not powerful enough imho...

This one seems promising but I am not sure. Huge bezel and still looks/sounds too heavy. I like my original Android Samsung S (not the S2) but it does not run Windows or the fuller functionality of Windows desktop of Logos. Sigh.

I just read reviews here (I always start with the lowest and hardest critics) and see this is a klugey unreliable machine.

I wonder if these machines that promise to "cool" the chip or inside are going to be any good.
The search continues...
Bill is on to something with larger space for my growing Logos library and I do need a good processor that will last a few years hopefully (nobody laugh....yes I have gadgititis God help me).
Josh,
If you're willing to look at slightly used devices, you could get a Surface Pro 3 for around $650 with the Type Cover.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Microsoft-Surface-Pro-3-256GB-Core-i5-8GB-RAM-Type-Cover-Pen-Bundle-Excellent-/182142726578?hash=item2a688d71b2:g:ji0AAOSwQjZXQfIz
I've been using the Pro 3 for over a year now and it runs Logos 6 flawlessly. Granted I don't have the largest library at roughly 2,000 resources or so. With a few MobileED classes, my total space used is around 40gb.
I still think the Surface Pro line is the best 2 in 1 devices for Logos.

You could buy the Miix from Costco and buy a 256GB SSD upgrade module from Crucial and swap it out.
Crucial Module: http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/Lenovo/ideapad-miix-700-12isk
You would need an external M.2 enclosure for the clone swap. I use this one: http://www.amazon.com/NGFF-PCI-LANE-30mm-Enclosure/dp/B00QA1QD7W?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00
Although the Crucial module comes with Acronis True Image to clone the drive, I prefer to use Farstone Driveclone 11 Free Edition: http://www.farstone.com/Solutions/sol-home-users.php
There is a slightly less expensive 256gb SSD on Amazon as well: http://www.amazon.com/MyDigitalSSD-240GB-256GB-Solid-Bullet/dp/B01BO4IUS4/ref=sr_1_3?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1464463192&sr=1-3&keywords=256gb+m.2 This one doesn't come with Acronis True Image, but Farstone Driveclone Free Edition will work fine with it.
Farstone lets you choose to only clone the OS partition whereas I've had trouble in the past with Acronis on my Venue 11 Pro and Yoga 2 Pro. Acronis will only let you image the whole drive (including recovery partitions).
Assuming the price you noted from Costco, the total price would be as little as $630 to just under $650.
Josh, I would keep a look out for Memorial Day deals. Dell had the refurbished Inspiron 7350 on sale for about $360 earlier this week. If I didn't have my Venue 11 Pro and Yoga 2 Pro already, I would have jumped at that.
The Core m5-6Y54 in the Miix 700 is nearly as good as a fifth generation Core i5 and has a much lower TDP. The new Core M processors are great performers; many people are confused by them and think you need an i5 or above. The truth is that for tablets and 2 in 1 devices, the Core M offers excellent performance with a much better thermal envelope and allow for a smaller form factor with passive cooling.
More wonderful replies and some with great technical info in them...God be praised.
I need lightweight too. Might settle for Surface Pro 3 if I can find one in good mint used condition with full specs like suggested.
Dell Venue products are too heavy or do not have enough power in my opinion.
I have a Dell Venue Pro 11 7140 with a Core M, 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD. It has plenty of enough power. And, it weighs less than a Surface Pro 3/4, and your original Surface Pro. But, it runs on the warm side, so you wouldn't be interested in it. But, OTOH, I bought it refurbished with a 1-year warranty for $529, so it's right in your price range.
Thanks Bill. I think you are awesome but I already have the original Hand-warmer for Church - The Surface Pro (original). I may need to settle for a Surface Pro 3.
Can you believe over 700 people have read this string? Seems many are eager to find a Windows Tablet that is fast, cool (temperature-wise), inexpensive, which can run Logos efficiently.
God bless us all....especially as we share what it is on or found on the computers we have or will get. [:)]
