It's a funny book, I was given a copy when my son was very little. More of a laugh for the parents than actually something you'd want to read to your kids: Please, please God, go to sleep.

My wife and I have chosen to bed down our thirteen children with Bible readings and bedtime prayers instead of vulgarities.

Greg F:

Well, I suppose the censorship has started, it seems already to be pulled. Score one for finger waving at foul language.. Oh well.

Greg, I imagine it is probably a pretty funny book.  I posted my FYI because I knew that it would create a firestorm, as it was posted in another thread, and it had the "F" word spelled out in the description (ironically amazon chose not to spell it out).  I don't think that it was ever Faithlife's intent for that title to be sold on their website, so I gave them a heads-up.  I was actually going to buy it, but it is cheaper for kindle.

James Hiddle:

Here is the amazon link.  I was actually going to buy it in the noet version, but then I realized that it is actually cheaper in kindle format, and I don't need my Logos library cluttered with something like that.

Hey, if I went by title alone the Hot Sex titles on Vyrso could be upsetting. Devil https://vyrso.com/product/30785/under-the-sheets-the-secrets-to-hot-sex-in-your-marriage

However, I hope the forums don't get deluged with complaints about titles. Initially while we see what to expect and Faithlife perfects their filtering it makes sense. But these are under the Noet brand so we shouldn't expect solely "acceptable" content. I don't like it being removed solely on the basis of the title.

Why deliberately stir up the minority who want to censor for all? When Bob asked about offering everything, we told him "under a different store" which he has done with Noet. Post in the Noet forum, if you must but don't annoy me before my first cup of coffee ... 'cuz I am really annoyed that it has been removed.

You misunderstood what I said, or I didn't make myself clear.  I knew that there would be a firestorm after people saw that the book had been included on the site once it was linked by someone else in this thread.  I simply posted a new thread so that Faithlife could get out in front of it.  I knew that it was probably something that Faithlife had not intended to offer because of the discussion and deletion of the book about sex.  I was not posting so that there would be a firestorm.  I was trying to give them an opportunity to pull it if it was indeed a mistake before it got wide spread attention.

Look, I am not offended by the book, but it had the "F" word spelled out in the description.  Not F*** or something like that (as in the title).  I assumed that it was an accident that it was on the site, so I brought it to their attention.  Obviously I was correct because they pulled it almost instantly.  I am sure it is funny, and I saw at the time that it has great reviews, but I didn't want them to be taken by surprise.

If they are going to include all resources, then they just need to make that call and announce it.  As Phil stated, this site has not even been announced yet, and Noet was supposed to be the place for more scholarly and classic secular literature.  I would expect some kind of announcement so that this doesn't happen.  It seems like another example of putting the cart before the horse.

Surely this is logical.

So, go-the-fk-to-sleep is scholarly and a classic, is it?   (ask MJ)

I can read Plato's Republic and enjoy the parts about using wives as temple prostitutes and sons as homosexual slaves and call it a classic but the Johnny-come-lately that wrote the cutesy kitty story has no place on NOET.

This site has the original description that was posted on the Noet site, as well as the author reading a portion of it.  Anyone who thinks that it is just a matter of the title should watch the video (warning:very graphic) in this link of the author reading it and tell me that you think that Faithlife wanted this book on their site.

I'm no legalist but if something is offensive and looks like something that George Carlin would write does not belong on a Christian site period.
