What happens to Highlighting when Resources are updated/corrected?

As I've been reading through resources & merrily highlighting things to bring important points to remembrance later & reporting the various textual bugs that inevitably creep in, the programmer in me wonders what happens when these textual bugs get corrected (or resources get re-built)...will my highlighting go away when the updated resource is downloaded?

We use a reasonably robust algorithm that lets us re-place highlights even when a book has been edited. If there are significant edits, or if the edits are directly on the text you've highlighted, it's possible for a highlight to get detached. But books should be stable except for typo fixes, and the system should be very robust against that.
