The Holy Spirit is a person who empowers us and not an 'it' that empowers us

Interesting. I'm sure he doesn't hold that the Spirit is an 'it' but a person. Good catch though.

Maybe the speaker is unitarian (e.g. Christadelphian), binitarian (e.g. Living Church of God), or modalist (e.g. Oneness Pentecostal)?

Agape,

Steve

Or maybe it's just a slip of the tongue?

The guy might even be a Tralfamadorian. But the Holy Spirit is still He.

Okay folks - this thread carries no question ... merely comments belonging on ChristianDiscourse.com ...

Orthodox Bishop Hilarion Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."

Looks to me like the OP was pointing out an error in the software...which is always appropriate for the forums.

Comments notwithstanding.

My thanks to the various MVPs. Without them Logos would have died early. They were the only real help available.

On the contrary, it concerns the video book introductions provided as part of the factbook tool. I did consider labeling as a bug but that didn't seem appropraiets, even though it bugs me...

If it was in a written resource, I could have reported it within the Logos app.

This is an issue of doctrine, not a "typo"...unless the guy is reading from a script taken from a previously published resource.

Either the author is a heretic, or they made a "typo." I prefer to give them the benefit of the doubt.

If you can show me orthodox councils, creeds, or confessions where the HS is designated/identified as a non-person, I'll modify my first sentence.

This MAY be an issue of doctrine, but I'm willing to bet my lunch money it is a simple typo.

True, he holds the Spirit as one of the three persons of the Holy Trinity. I'll notify the video team about the "it" problem. Remove the "it" and the doctrine is sound.
