Guys, if you were diving into developing a comprehensive study on Mark - to be taught over @15 weeks in Sunday School (mature group - 60 folks in class) - what search / functions would you begin with?

I'm not sure this answers your question but the congregation that I'm a part of enjoys the sandwich structure that Mark employs so many times in his stories. It has added intrigue and curiosity as to why he inserts an event in the middle of another event.

Pastor Glen James:

Prayerfully would consider Meat & Milk needs for the 60 folks along with class format and hand outs. An item to consider is homework or interaction outside of Sunday School time: e.g. Faithlife group discussions

One idea is sets of questions so could divide class into smaller groups for discussion. Questions could be on poster paper so each group can write their answers. When time to share, each group shows their poster and shares their discussion plus fields questions/comments from rest of class. Mark is a book of action so role playing is another idea.

Personal study would start with visual filter highlighting of Mark so can "see" range of Greek verbal expression with discourse formatting and Inductive Precepts:

Faithlife group Logos Visual Filters => https://faithlife.com/logos-visual-filters/activity allows members OR followers to copy documents.

Also would read Bible with visual filter blue highlighting of Old Testament allusions and quotes

One thought is filtering Library for resource(s) that may be useful:

study subj:Mark

Moody Press title "Creative Bible Teaching" is currently not available for purchase:

Acronym SOAP = Scripture Observe Apply Pray

Thankful for variety of Guides so can find much to consider.
