Does Logos run on the Apple and Samsung IPads? And which does you folks recommend? Would that be the Apple IPad or the Samsung?
The mobile app does, not the full desktop version. At least to my knowledge. I have an iPad Mini that I use Logos on from time to time. Honestly I don't really use it on the iPad other than as a reader. I don't really research on it, but I know there is limited function on there that you can do research using it. Also, not all resources you own are on the mobile app, most of them are though.
Does Logos run on the Apple and Samsung IPads?
For clarification: "iPad" is a trademark of Apple and only means "Apple iPad" tablets running iOS. Samsung makes Android tablets. As Keith mentioned, the desktop app does not run on either, but Logos makes mobile apps for both platforms (iOS & Android).
Faithlife used to have two separate forums for these platforms, but just merged them recently. The new forum can be found HERE, which would be a great place to ask... or at least it will be once everyone migrates to that forum from the old ones.
There are some minor differences between the apps FL makes for the two platforms, but they are similar. The real questions:
I hope that helps.
Mobile apps are pretty similar but here is the run down:
Here's a list of the differences:
Features only available on Android:- Report Typos feature - Keep screen on setting- Margins are adjustable- Always show book panel controls setting- Complete color scheme implementation- The Store allows direct in-App purchases from Faithlife
Features only available on iOS:- Prayers appear on the Home page - Reading Reminders- Screen brightness setting- Individual Interlinear lines can be turned on/off (Resource specific)- Individual Note Documents can be turned on/off (Resource specific)- Individual Community Note Groups can be turned on/off (Resource specific)- Individual Reading Plans can be turned on/off (Resource specific)- The Tab Bar can be set to always appear on iPhone devices
Features better on iOS:- Smooth scrolling is much smoother- Startup time is faster
Features better on Android:- Color Schemes; if you use low-light mode a lot it's a much better experience.
Other info:- SD Cards are not supported (Android)
Thank you muchly for the replies. I'm assuming we can download Logos onto the e.g. IPad for zero cost since we already own (or rent) Logos. Am I correct in that? Apparently it seems the Apple IPad is the better one to get as you point out Dan. Again, thanks for the info.
Yes it's free
https://www.logos.com/iphone has a general mobile app video showing phones and tablets.
Just a reminder too active internet connection is required for passage guides advanced searches and Greek Hebrew look up.
