BDAG Search

I recently purchased BDAG and have it installed in L3. I would like to be able to use the search functions in L3, but I cannot access the search function in BDAG.

I checked my C:\program files\Libronix DLS\Common\LDLS\Addins file, and saw that the “SearchBDAG” Addin is in this file, but the Addin is not listed in Libronix when I go to tools/options/general addins.

I am running L3 on Windows XP computer

Any suggestions, I hate to trouble support with this, especially if this is an easy fix

The addin should have been installed when you installed it. Since it isn't there, run this script: http://www.logos.com/media/update/LogosAddinsAutoUpdate.lbxupd it should install BDAG search addin.

I checked my L3 installation and noticed exactly the same as Mark. I then ran the script and checked again. Still no BDAG addin in list of Addins. I opened the Addins folder and counted 61 items in it but there are only 24 Addins showing in my Tools|Options|General|Addins.

However, I opened BDAG and ran a search in BDAG and it returned results. But there was no BDAG search option in the Search drop-down menu, so I cannot make use of the special fields in the Search BDAG option. Anyone any ideas out there?

I don't have that in the drop-down Search menu, as I said in my post. I have run the update script and the BDAG Addin is in my Addin folder at C:\program files\Libronix DLS\Common\LDLS\Addins. It just refuses to appear in my menu drop-down.

Puzzled. [*-)]

Hope someone can help, because I don't have all day to wait on hold to get tech support. And they don't answer emails except automatically anymore. [:(]

Odd. I searched the knowledge base and it wasn't listed as a problem dealt with before [*-)]

I suppose if I was in your situation I would shut Libronix down and then rename the SearchBDAG addin file (perhaps even remove it from the folder) and then run the update script again to see if that would fix it.

Addins have to sometimes be manually enabled. Try to chech if it is enabled at Tools/Options/General/Addins/Search BDAG.

I had the exact same problem after installing the PBB Addin in Libronix recently. It didn't show up in my menu. People on the forum tried to help me and I did everything they suggested (which I'd already thought to do anyway), but it turned out to be a problem on the Logos end. So unfortunately, I think you will probably need to call tech support. I just called them (in fact am still on the phone with one of their tech support specialists as I type this) and as of right now (early morning Logos time; they opened at 6 AM, about half an hour ago), the wait time is only 17-18 minutes.

Kevin, tried you removing addin suggestion and it downloaded the Addin. Sadly, that did not solve the problem.

Bert, so then I tried yours, but Search BDAG is not there to enable.

So, Rosie, I suppose I'll have to try yours, but it's a pricey option from the UK as my call is a national long-distance call and costs soon rack up. [:(]

Some people outside the US have reported using skype to reduce long distance charges, is that an option for you?

Also, you can use L4 to search these field in BDAG... of course it depends on what you want to do with your search results if that is a viable option.

They have a special number just for the UK (08721-218-1700). Isn't that a local or toll free number? If not, you can always email them (support@logos.com) and wait a few days for their reply. But at least that'll be free.

I found a way to bypass the telephonic expense problem [;)]. I wonder if you are aware that if you use the toll free number of Logos in the states as a dial out number on Skype then you do not have to pay for the call. That is how I contact Logos.

Set up a contact as Tech Support - insert their office number as +18008756467. When you then dial the number Skype recognizes it as a toll free number and you do not have to use any skype out credits. The call is actually free to you.

I did check with Logos if they had problems with me spreading this message and was told by Dan P that it is OK.

One thing that I noticed when I ran "Account Summary", to see all of the products that I have licensed, I noticed that the "SearchBDAG" addin is not listed with the other addins, Even though it is loaded on my computer. I will call Tech support to see if this is the problem, and post after I speak with them.

This was the problem. Customer service updated my "account summary" to include the license for "Search BDAG", it now works. It also shows up with the rest of my addins in Tools\options\general\addins.

Thanks for your suggestion. Bit the bullet. Made the call at 6.01 am PST, got through immediately and everything sorted out in less than 2 minutes. Search BGAD now working properly. FYI an 0871 number in the UK is a long-ditance national call, like if I was calling Edinburgh or London from Banff (the original one). [:D]
