ChristianDiscourse.com has been working very poorly for quite a while with 502, 503 and other errors. FL seems to be offering no effective response or fix. Is there any intent to make the site work?

Yes. But no response from Faithlife there. A couple of us have contacted FL directly and the results can be seen in that thread--if you can access it.
Gao Lu:as been working very poorly for quite a while
So if I were to argue with you about how well the site was working, would that be considered a theological debate?
My thanks to the various MVPs. Without them Logos would have died early. They were the only real help available.
Faithlife Corp. owes the MVPs free resources for life.
Doc B:So if I were to argue with you about how well the site was working, would that be considered a theological debate?
Only if the argument related to primary vs. secondary causes and and their compatibility.

Wikipedia: Augustine of Hippo defined the Latin equivalent, theologia, as "reasoning or discussion concerning the Deity."
I think it would be! Let me give an illustration:
Years ago I was flying TWA (remember way back then?). I was kicked off a flight because it was overbooked. Then I was informed there were no more flights for 3 days due to all flights already being overbooked. Upon further questioning, I learned that I could get no voucher for a hotel or meals because the whole situation was brought about by bad weather which was "an act of God." I then asked her if she believed in God. She wasn't sure. I then asked if God had overbooked the flights. She asked me to please go to the end of the line and wait for further developments.
If getting kicked off overbooked flights is a theological discussion, then surely getting kicked off a website would be.

I got quite a good little chuckle from this...Thank you!
RIP ChristianDiscourse.com.
Faithlife recently did maintenance on their servers, but CD apparently escaped. I worked hard to contribute to ChristianDiscouse and try to help build it into something beneficial that would attract helpful contributors, as did some others. I imagined a place where, eventually, knowledgeable, capable people with diversity of views could gather to share understanding, a place where the knowledgeable could help build up those hungering for more. We were not quite there yet, but although success was slow I maintained hope. Now, for an extended time, the site seldom works or and works unreliably. Naturally I am disappointed.
I have received no feed back from Logos / Faithlife other than acknowledgement of receipt of my request for attention. Others have had similar experience. I would offer quotes of vague responses from Faithlife, but the site remains down.
Maybe no one at Faithlife cares or they are too busy with other things or they want the site to go away (very possible) and this message will disappear into the ether.
If so, I tried.
Lets get this fixed.

That isn't spelled right. When I visit http://christiandiscourse.com it works for me.

Fixed the spelling. Yes, it is back up and working now. Sometimes it will work for a few minutes. Maybe it will stick this time.
[Edit] Alas. A few minutes later it is down.
Sorry I don't have an official answer for you yet. When we have one, we'll post it here.
Thanks for the feedback, Bradley.

Not to be a negative Nelly but, frankly, I am amazed they keep it and that it has continued as long as it has. Every time I have looked at it, it appears that maybe 10 people at the most use it on any sort of a regular basis. Apart from the regulars, I know that it has also been wonderful for redirecting the unrestrained, contentious, and/or otherwise bellicose persons of the regular forums and, perhaps, it pays for itself in that service alone.
But still, I wonder if it isn't draining precious resources away from the primary goal(s) of FaithLife.
JRS has left the building.
JRS:But still, I wonder if it isn't draining precious resources away from the primary goal(s) of FaithLife.
If I remember correctly, it was designed by an intern doing a summer project. It was useful in that the intern gained experience and secondly, that FL would have a place to direct controversial threads.
That also explains why there hasn't been much work on it.
What I have read, so far, from this site, has been very interesting and knowledgeable from all views. So far, it has been polite and I hope it stays that way. It would be nice to get many more people to contribute their ideas.

I have to agree with you. I just keep believing it has potential to be something much greater, given the folks available around the FL community, keep hoping some "lure" would eventually float by to entice the greater community's interest.
Lack of support and non-existent moderation has not helped that cause. Like any such site, there have been challenges, but I think they pale in comparison to potential.
I do not know the present problem, although it almost appears like a sustained external network attack (DoS??). Maybe someone has a motive? Maybe it isn't that.

This is another instance where Faithlife might benefit from very willing, carefully selected volunteers.
For some time now it appears to have disappeared behind "Error 502 Bad Gateway" curtain ... or more likely it has been silently killed and buried? has there been a notice anywhere that Logos/Faithlife was going to shut it down?
Cheers,Wolfgang
