I have been using Logos for about seven years and have it on my desktop, laptop, IPad and phone.  Can someone let me know why I would or would not want to add Vyrso as an App to any or all of the above?

I have the Vyrso app on my iPad as well as the Logos app. I use them completely differently. I use the Vyrso app strictly for reading books. I use it like i use the Kindle app or iBooks. The logos app i use when i need to look at a passage and the check a commentary or use one of the tools. It's my portable study app (though far less useful and powerful than Logos on the desktop). I also use it for courses and reading plans. Vyrso gets used strictly for reading.

First, there is only a Vyrso mobile app... there isn't a desktop app (Windows or Mac). Most of the Faithlife mobile apps, including vyrso, are simply variations of the same app engine with a few features added or removed. The Vyrso app is the most basic of all the reader apps.

If you add a second installation (i.e. "Logos" and "Vyrso") to your iOS device, you will have twice the amount of space used for any note documents since the apps can't share that info between themselves. Likewise, if you have a resource downloaded to both apps, it will take up twice the space. If you only download resources to one or the other app, that isn't an issue.

Some users like to have multiple apps so that they can keep multiple books open at a time. Now, I only download additional apps to test. I find that Bible! (or is it actually called Logos now?) best meets my needs and usage.

Thanks Alabama 24.  I thought that I had finally slipped into senility.  I was pretty sure I had posted the question but couldn't find it again.  Wondered if I had been moderated or censored or something.

The Vyrso forum is for the Vyrso store. Since your question was about one of the mobile apps, it may have been moved so that the right people see your post.

For me, some serious-ish; some frivolous.

- Forced book downloads. Even if you delete them, they come back, chewing up my cellular budget, and messing up my library. The Faithlife app is the worst. The Catholic one not far behind.

-Tools inconvenient by definition. I'm always off-line, so non-working tools are just bad aji (taste). Bible and Biblia apps.

- Updates. I used to have multiple apps as Alabama noted. But the multiple updates became too much (though the Accordance app takes the cake for monster-size updates).

- Colors. Vyrso is positively awful. This is the frivolous reason.

I ended up with Noet. When I re-install, it's easy to find (Bible/Biblia impossible). The purple is quiet and peaceful. Only one non-working tool. And the name is cute!  And the forced download is a good reminder.

I use the full Logos App for bible study purposes, mainly reading of theogical titles and note taking while I am on the move, and use the Vyrso app for reading for pleasure. Hence other than a bible, there is little overlap between the titles I have between the two applications. I have recently also installed Noet app as I am going to use it for my reading of the Great Books, hence other than a bible, little overlap of resources with this app due to my choice of the way I use them.

When it comes to the heavy lifting of bible study the desktop application is my tool chest of choice.

I use all the Logos, Vyrso, Faithlife, Verbum Apps to keep different Bible Studies open on each App. I don't download my entire Library-- too many books as I've had Logos since the very beginning of the conception of Logos.

Today I helped my Study Buddy setup Logos Bible, Faithlife, Vyrso, & Verbum Apps on her new iPad Air 2. All her books show in her Library except in the Vyrso App (We ran out of time so have not checked Verbum). Could someone let me know what to do so all her Library books will appear in Vyrso App?

Thank you

Bev- I no longer use that app, but there is a setting to show non-Vyrso resources. They are now hidden by default

Bev

You need to ensure "Vyrso Resouces Only" is not selected

Thank you! I should have compared my Vyrso Settings to her's and then I would have noticed the default setting. Next Tuesday we meet so I'll show her.

Thanks again, I appreciate it.
