Notes and Tags

I had originally posted on this topic several years ago and never really go any answers so gave up.  Someone just posted again, so reminded me how much notes could be truly useful.  So here are a few questions that I cannot find answered anywhere.

• What is Notes designed for?  I can't figure out how to search them.  They are useful to me right now only when looking at the specific passage they are linked to.  So somewhat useful, but way less than they could be.
• What are tags designed for?  I can't seem to search on them, and they don't even show up on the mobile version as far as I can tell.
• How do you enter multiple tags?  I've guessed they are perhaps a comma delimited list, but don't really know as I can't find any guidance.  I've actually given up using them because I can't find any use for them, but I'm assuming there was some intended use.

This area to me is one of the biggest weaknesses in the whole system.  The intent seems to be a place where you add your own notes, but then there is no way to index or text or even tag search it or even export it which seems to lose the whole point.  I'm hoping someone can simply answer how these tools are meant to be used, or if they aren't meant to be used I will continue to ignore them.
