This question might sound strange, but this is my situation.
My home language is Afrikaans (roots in Dutch) as well as my congregation.
My problem is that in most situations information on the Afrikaans word is not nearly as helpful as the english word. In Phil 2:12 the word beloved's information includes Louw & Nida whereas the Afrikaans word, "geliefdes" does not link to L&D.
Question: Do other English 2nd language users also mainly use a good english translation as their working translation in stead of their home language?
