Below is a description of a labor intensive process I go through while preparing for my Adult Sunday School class.

  1. Read commentary A.
  2. Select text I consider important and add to a Clippings document.
  3. Read commentary B.
  4. Select text ... and add to a Clippings document.
  5. Read commentary C.
  6. Select get the idea

At this point, the clippings in the document are in order according to when I created each clipping.  I really want them sorted by scripture reference.  So, I drag the various clippings in my document up or down so that they are in the desired order.  I place introductory stuff at the top, then clippings on verse 1 next, then verse 2, etc.

Once I've got my clippings in the desired order, I export them to a Word document and add additional notes in preparation for teaching.

There has to be a better way.  I thought I found a solution in the Notes function when I saw a feature to "sort by note color".  But obviously, that does not work using the Quotes mode of Notes.  (I find the other Notes modes useless for my needs).

Assuming that you understand my cryptic requirements here, can anyone point me in a direction that will streamline this process?

Thanks in advance for your help.
