I'm not a hardware person, so feel free to comment. The issue that caught my eye (if true) was moving the memory, with a measurable hit on performance. Luckily, my PC is nearing death, and pretty much off the internet.
I am interested in hearing from hardware people what they think about this for Logos and beyond.
I'm very [:@] about this. I just bought a new computer last year, something I don't get to do very often, and I'm going to be very unhappy if it takes a big performance hit from this.
First impression: Class action lawsuits will be filed before the end of the day (and new lawyer ads on tv by tomorrow).

ExtremeTech suggests that it also affects ARM cpus but probably not AMD. It may only affect pre-Haswell chips.
The article's conclusion is probably the best advice for now,
"Right now, the list of what we don’t know is longer than what we do. There are implications for cloud vendors and developers across the entire spectrum where ARM and x86 are deployed, but until we know more about the security flaw and at-risk systems, we’d counsel against any quick conclusions."
Oops! Sorry, Randy. Buying a PC was on my radar.
Just buy an AMD powered machine instead. Although if people look hard and long enough, there will always be flaws in anything man-made.
