There are couple of highlight features I'd like to see;
I would also like to see the ability to put markings in the margin besides just the vertical bar which is allowed now. For example, arrows and asterisks and exclamation points and such.
Also, we need a wider range of colors in the color palette, especially for font styling, borders, and labels. I'd want a darker blue (like the color of hyperlinks) and a darker grey, for example. And a true primary green.
Another feature I just thought of as I'm doing studying would be;

That would be interesting. Doing that had never occurred to me, but I have a method that kind of mimics it. I've created four (for now that's all I've needed, but I could make more) custom Highlighting styles called Point 1, Point 2, Point 3, and Point 4. Each one has simply a "before" label text with a number in a circle (I've got a special font for that: Bullet Numbers Copperplate Positive):
Here's one of them expanded so you can see the settings:
And here's what it looks like in the text:
Perhaps it wouldn't be too hard for Logos to add some special syntax where we could include a linebreak or new paragraph mark in the "before" text using any number of escape characters that other apps use for such things: e.g., \n, ^p, ¶ I tried all such syntax and none of it is understood by Logos, but maybe they could add a few special unicode characters like that, things which we couldn't otherwise type in on our keyboards.
Hey Rosie
I've never thought of doing the numbering thing like you created. I'll have to try that. However, I'm off to the practice range. Got a big golf game with the boys tomorrow and want to make sure that I spank their butts.
Great suggestion. Ty.
Thats a great idea! Here's my first attempt.

That's a good idea too. I hadn't thought to use Bubble formatting (which I see they've renamed "Capsule" -- not sure that's more evocative of what it really looks like; I guess they're thinking of a pill-shaped thing?)
Incidentally, you can add spaces before and after the text in a "capsule" and it will be maintained. It makes them a look a little more rounded and readable that way. These ones each have two spaces before and two spaces after:
I use this form of numbering when I'm reading print books all the time, to help me locate the author's main points and follow his or her line of argument.
Now if only they allowed us to assign number keys as shortcuts for our highlighting styles, I'd be a totally happy camper.
And I wonder why when you check "Capsule" all the other font formatting for that label is disabled. I mean it would be nice to be able to select a different font size or small caps or whatever, and I don't see why Capsule should conflict with that. I'll post this as a separate problem/bug/request.
Another feature I just thought of as I'm doing studying would be; the ability to break-up paragraphs into lists. Something like this: To take the original L4 style (below) and edit it to the following.
Try using "^n" in the text for "Text Before" or "Text After" to insert a line break before/after your selection. That should allow you to break up the text a bit. ^n can also be combined with other text, if you need it to fall before any other marking text.
Hope this helps get you part of the way there, especially when combined with Rosie's suggestion.

Thanks, Matt! That works great. Only it doesn't look very nice in the "capsule" formatting because it leaves a bit of capsule color on the preceding line:
But if I use my Bullet Numbers Copperplate font, it looks perfect:
Only problem is, it doesn't look that great in the Highlighting palette, because the "^n" is being shown in this bullet number font, whereas it won't actually show up this way in the text. Perhaps the preview code has a bug in it?
People using a normal font wouldn't have this problem.
