In Eph 2:2 it says, "in which you once walked according to the course of this world...." When I check the interlinear for the word "world" it says it's from the Greek word "kosmos" and the Louw Nida number is "LN 12.44."  This is incorrect. LN 12.44 is αἰὼν.  It should be LN 41.38 I think. Compare with 1 John 2:15-17.

I found this error in NKJV, but it's also present in ESV, NLT, and others I suppose.

Thanks

It seems correct to me. My short, slightly uneducated, explanation - Louw-Nida is based upon semantic domains. It breaks the words down by their various shades of meaning and then organizes those various meanings by topic, making this lexicon unique in its approach.

Thus, from your examples, you find the term World from Ephesians 2:2 in domain 12, the first term World from 1 John 2:15 in domain 41, and the second term World from 1 John 2:15 in domain 1. To see how κόσμος is organized in Louw-Nida, see the Greek-English Index.

That makes sense to me.

Thanks Scott!
