I installed these into L3, but they are locked.

To install, I copied the resource files into my existing installation of L3, rather than running the setup that came with it, should that  have made any difference?

Yes, the install sets up for the unlocking. It will not create a duplicate installation.

No free one in Logos, but you can find free Chinese Bible here: http://www.biblica.com/bibles/chinese/. There is an older translation of the whole Bible (Old Testament and New Testament) and a more recent translation of the New Testament only.

Logos has two Chinese Bibles (USD $19.95 each):

Lynden Williams:
I want him to get a feel as to what the software is like.

By the way, I found out that the 30 free titles in http://www.logos.com/iphone/support works on library.logos.com too. So, after you sign up for an account, there are 60 free resources there, including the 30 in the list and some other Bible translations.

library.logos.com is actually a great site. If you run it on Windows, it looks very like the existing Logos4. So, it might be the best way to present your friend a demo on Logos4.

If you own an ESV Bible, you can download a free package of Crossway books at http://www.gnpcb.org/freecd/

Kevin Becker:
Are these Libronix/Logos books or some other format?

I sent an email to Crossway from the link above, asking if my Logos ESV qualified me to download free stuff.  I got an answer back saying that this offer is only for purchasers of hardcopy ESV Bibles.   The rep said the download is basically Logos format -- the ESV Bible and some other resources.  She said I may already have the bulk of the free download and therefore don't need to worry about downloading from the site.

Thank you for the clarification.  I should have written "hard copy" ESV Bible, instead of just ESV Bible.  I knew that a paper copy was required for the download, but failed to make that explicit.

This may or may not be true.  I do not know what your library looks like, but I picked up a few good volumes with this download (like Preaching the Word--Romans), even with a fairly good size library.  Go to http://wiki.logos.com/Free_Logos_Books_(Demo_Version) for a list of included resources (scroll down to the Crossway section).  If I had not already owned a paper ESV, I would considered purchasing one to download this collection.

Please go to this site: http://www.crossway.org/catalog/bibles to see that actually not all printed ESV Bible has the free Libronix demo offered.

The cheapest one is Compact TruGrip Bibles, which costs 15.59 in Amazon.com.

You are right, the NET notes are extremely helpful and definitely worth $20.  However, I am still glad that the note free NET is offered for free.  Free access to quality Bible translations is always a good thing.
