I am curious as to what occupations are represented by LOGOS users.  I know that the forums only represent a small percentage of all the users, but answers can serve as a starting point.  I would be in whether you are a

  • Pastor
  • Student (level and school)
  • Educator (level and what area)
  • Laymen and occupation (either general, e.g. engineer, or specific, e.g. photonics engineer working for Kodak, or somewhere in between)
  • Retired (please give previous occupation)
  • Other (please describe)

Only give what you feel free in providing.

Just curious - thanks.

My answer - all of the above

I am a 1980 graduate of Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.  I then pastored for 4-1/2 years before taking a position teaching Computer Science at a Christian college.  My education then included a MS in Computer Science Education and a MSEd in Community Counseling.  More recently, I again took on the role of a part-time pastor.  When I was accepted for Social Security Disability four years ago, I left the my Computer Science teaching position.  With the disability, I am semi-retired.  I still have a small congregation at a senior apartment complex and would like to find another part-time pastoral position, if possible.  In addition, I currently am considered a student at the Rochester Institute of Technology where my wife and I take part in the local OSHER Institute of Lifelong Learning.

Blessings,
Floyd

Other: Student of UOL (University of Life), Lay Preacher on occasions, but in reality actively seeking work pretty much any job in any field except cleaning over 30hrs/week, but havent been gainfully employed since Christmas.

I would like to think of myself as a IT Programmer, but these days only work in that field on a freelance basis.

I may never pastor a church, but am told I am a encourager and motivator, I try and help others become all the can be for God, and encourage them to use their gifting(s)

Never got to University/College(US) maybe next year..

Layman.  College oceanography instructor (seasonal - fall and spring semesters); and whale watch naturalist (seasonal - mid-spring to mid-fall).

[Former church secretary (about as close to pastoral duties as I'll ever get); former software engineer; former community college anatomy & physiology instructor; former high school biology and "chemystery" teacher.]

Floyd Johnson:
I am curious as to what occupations are represented by LOGOS users.

There is a Logos Bible Software "Group" on LinkedIn that has some really diverse walks of life represented. Since LinkedIn is primarily a professional networking tool it is interesting to see the wide range of career fields and interests Logos' users have.

If you are on LinkedIn, feel free to join our group here: http://www.linkedin.com/groups?gid=861457

Pastor.

Plus I teach a yearly two week intensive course each year in Haiti on Spiritual Warfare at the Emmaus Biblical Seminary. (ebshaiti.org)

I've got my B.A.  in Pastoral Studies from Moody Bible Institute - I'm yearning to go for a Masters in Biblical Languages but alas, time and circumstance prevent me from pursuing that for now.
