Software engineer.  I've mostly done the software used by other programmers to write, optimize, test, and debug software.

  • Pastor of Children and Youth
  • Student finishing my M.Div in Apologetics in May 2011! (My undergrad was a B. Music, emphasis in Music Industry).

My love for Logos came though, from my love of computers while I worked in IT. But it wasn't until Seminary I took the plunge and bought it for myself!

Dan DeVilder:

Thomas Black:
I've got my B.A.  in Pastoral Studies from Moody Bible Institute

When did you go there, Thomas?  I just remember them shellacking us in soccer all the time.  8-1, 12-0, 18-1, etc.  Our team always said, "Moody players are always soooo nice!"  I would reply: "It's easy to be nice after annihilating a team like that!"  Big Smile  But seriously, we always liked Moody.  I played them in the mid to late 80's.

I am a pastor. . . grew up as a pk and an "mk" (missionary kid) in Germany, in the 70's.  Swore I would never be a preacher or missionary.  Yeah.  Never swear.

Shellacking?  That's a new one for me.  Well looking at the scores, I can see clearly what you mean.  :-)

I was at Moody from '92-'97 (took a semester or two off to pay the bills).    I'm glad to hear that the Moody Archers exhibited great sportsmanship!  I expect nothing less.  We Moody Alumn tend to have pretty high expectations of our fellow students.

I grew up in NW Indiana as a businessman's kid.  I swore I was going to be a businessman.  Well I'm a pastor.  :-)

Hmm Sarcasm is my love language. Obviously I love you.

BS, Math & Computer Science, Software Engingeer (Microsoft) for 11 years, studied theology for 8 years (MCS, Regent College in Vancouver), now am a full-time beta tester for Logos. Wink

Actually, I wear a lot of hats: writer and teacher (mostly on issues related to faith & technology), computer tutor, photographer, lay leader in my church (occasional preaching and worship leading), and life-long learner.

Critical Care RN for 20 years and then retired

Now work for a non-profit that resettles refugees, as data analyst, project manager and user support person

Layperson who spends time in the Word through Logos 4 every day - devotional, OT, NT, Psalms, Proverbs and a few pages as I read through a chosen resource.  Will be using it over the summer for a Bible study class with Precepts.

I have a degree in Computer Science from Purdue.  I spent 5 years as a programmer for NASA/Johnson Space Center, and then the last 13 years have been with IBM as a software engineer writing Java code for web applications.  That makes me a layman who teaches when needed, and enjoys the access to the Word that Logos provides.

Director of Operations / Owner (Taco Johns) full time for 10 years.

Pastor part time for 8 years

MA Psychology, MA Youth ministry Denver Seminary.

I was in full time ministry for almost 20 years, but I am much more suited for part-time ministry.  I have a very hard time dealing with sheep that think they own the shepherd because they help pay his salary.  For me, part time makes me a much better pastor.  May God bless you that have been called to and can endure full time ministry.
