When I updated to A19 and tried to open up Logos on battery power, it would not get passed step 2 of preparing my library and the icon in the menu bar goes gray. Could this be because stage two of library preparation requires indexing (causing a pause if on battery power) or is there something that I'm missing? Is there any way to run Logos on battery power with A19? Any help would be appreciated!

Thank you!

Ethan Knudson

Ethan, I'm experiencing the same as you. For now I keep my laptop plugged in (or load Logos while I have ac power), and I'm sure this will be fixed in the future.

I'm using Logos 4 on a Macbook using battery power right now. I think that with the update to A19 you will be unable to use L4 until the library has reindexed. So keep your laptop plugged in until Logos 4 has finished indexing. Then you can open Logos 4 and use it whether you are on battery power or not.

After updating to A19 on yesterday.  When I tried to start Logos up this morning on a fully charged battery, it would not start.  When placing pointer over icon it says indexing will resume when plugged into a power source.  This is very inconvenient at times.

I believe this is likely to be a short term issue. Once your library has been reindexed, I expect you will be able to run L4 whenever you like. My library finished reindexing last night and I'm using L4 while away from a power source right now.

Hey Stephen, Thanks for your response but this is not a indexing problem.  Library was indexed on yesterday after update.  I always allow program to index after any update.

In which case, post your logs - when you've plugged the laptop in and have started L4, of course - then the developers can have a look at this for you. My initial thought is that the indexer crashed before finishing yesterday and it still has work to do, but without the logs it's impossible to tell.

Ethan, Lewis,

This is definitely a bug. It has been fixed in our development version. We intend to release an updated alpha 19 with fixes for Bible search (verses and aligned views) and this fix as well in the next day or so.

Thanks,

Tom
