Hi all,

I'm really looking forward to doing this course, one thing I am unsure of though is, after getting this course through Faithlife Essentials, I noticed that when you purchase the certificate course you get the workbook and the alphabet course.

How important are these? Will a benefit much by buying at least the workbook?

Is there any of the 'suggested reading' or 'see also' resourses really worth buying as well?

Any advice before I start this course would be greatly appreciated!

Nathan.

Great questions.

The course follows the text book.  It provides more explanations, and exercises than what is covered in the course. (It will be updated sometime this year with an answer key). It also has reference materials for helping you translate. It by far is the most linked text for the course.  The GK101 Activities Resource is more like a workbook.  Most Mobile Ed courses do not have a specific associated textbook (the transcript acts as a textbook in most cases.)  GK101 and HB101 are exceptions to this. For these courses I highly recommend the associated text for the fullest experience.  That is reason for bundling them all together in the certificate program.

The alphabet course is less essential since GK101 does cover the alphabet.  However, it is very nice to have a thorough understanding of it before starting translation exercises which come very quickly in the course.  The alphabet course provides more explanation and games to really become familiar with it.

Thanks John!

I've gone ahead and purchased both. I've done the first couple of segments and now have begun the alphabet course. It seems brilliantly made already and I'm really excited to start learning Greek! Thanks for all your work in this course I am sure it will be incredibly helpful for my future!

Nathan.

Please feel free to comment in the course Faithlife group as you work through the material.

Creating a discussion is a great way to ask a question and be able to see discussions on questions others have asked.
