Blessed Maundy Thursday, all.

I am trying to put together a collection by the "regular books" (mostly from former Vyrso) rather than my usual Bibles, commentaries, etc.

I came across the field "livretype" described as "Publication Type" and wondered if it might help.

Allas, I can find nowhere what possible parameters/terms might be, so I did a universal search with "livretype:*" to see what comes up.

Nothing.

Any suggestions or thoughts? What are some possible parameters for this field? Am I doing the search incorrectly? Are there other ways to go about finding "regular books" for reading instead of adding/deleting qualifying titles one-by-one in the collections tool?

Many thanks,
Scott

Hi Scott. Not sure where you found the reference to livretype but normally if you just want to find different types of resources in your library, you have to do it from the library window, not from a search window. You can use the "type" sorting column as one option, but if all you are trying to do is find vyrso books see if typing vyrso in the main field of the library window does the trick (often there are community tags attached to resources).

I've never heard of livretype but I think if you wanted to see all 'regular books' you'd use type:monograph and if you only wanted to see Vyrso/Faithlife Ebooks, you'd use edition:e. You have to do this in the Collections tool, and you can also add and/or remove books in the collection.

Here would be my first line of attack: Open the library and expose (and sort by) the "edition" column. Most (maybe all) of what you want will be under "eBook". If there aren't too many unwanted resources here, just start your collection with the rule "edition:ebook" and then "minus these resources" for the unwanted ones.

this does not seem to be something that helps - maybe it's a translation for something in the French UI ("livre" is French for book) - but types alone won't help you build meaningful collections. Maybe if you elaborate what you want to accomplish in using the collection of "regular books"? Regular books are just as diverse as it can be!

MJ discusses search fields in a couple of posts at https://community.logos.com/forums/t/124155.aspx and https://community.logos.com/forums/t/132587.aspx - and in these she lists the presence of this particular field.

It is included in the Logos help file as a possible search field

This doesn't mean that any particular resources in your Library are tagged with this field - none of my resources are - so it's probably best to go with the suggestions you have already received

Thankful for MJ's threads so for grins did a wildcard search of Liturgical Texts, whose 20,543 results in one resource can be quickly duplicated by searching for three words:

In contrast, search of liturgical NEAR text found many resource results to consider.
