I was struck by ESV's translation of Ps 35:27 talking of the Psalmists' righteousness (צִ֫דְקִ֥), especially when v24,28 talk of God's righteousness (same word).  I wondered how to check what words are used for righteousness in the Old Testament and their meaning.

I did a Bible word study on צִ֫דְקִ֥ and then hovered over translations of righteous to see various words.  I'm sure there's a better way to learn about Hebrew words for righteousness and their differences from Logos?  Any ideas?

Thank you!

I use the Bible Word Study. Below is a screenshot. The one on the left shows the ESV translation of the Hebrew word used in the verse you referenced. The one on the right is on the english word righteousness and shows all the Hebrew, (and Greek if you wish) words translated righteousness. If you click on the ring it will provide you a list of passages.

If you are unfamiliar with the Bible Word Study tool, there are logos training videos available on their website or youtube.

Ah superb - I knew about Bible Word study but didn't know you could put in English words - I'd only ever used it to see how Greek/Hebrew words were translated!  Thank you! :)
