Is there a resource that shows how Jesus taught and the various techniques he used? For example: Parable, discourse, questions, word pictures etc?

Is there a resource ...

So trying to stick to Logos is hard - as there is so little. However these below might bear attention

Unfortunately most of the texts I have read directly on the subject are not in Logos yet.

Some authors to look for are:-

Lois Tverberg

David Flusser (I haven't listed his Logos titles as they generally only touch on your subject obliquely and need to be scoured to get what he says on the subject)

David Bivin (ditto - but there is less volume and not in Logos)

This is a fairly controversial area and not all scholars agree on it - when do they!

See https://www.logos.com/product/4624/journal-of-the-evangelical-theological-society and the articles

  1. Douglas Moo, “Matthew and Midrash: An Evaluation of Robert H. Gundry’s Approach,” Journal of the Evangelical Theological Society, March, 1983: 37.
  2. Robert H. Gundry, “Gundry: A Response to ‘Matthew and Midrash’,” Journal of the Evangelical Theological Society (March, 1983): 50.

If you want more material beyond Logos - get back to me and we can converse 'off line'.

Shalom Kevin

An outstanding resource is Josh Hunt's "Teach Like Jesus" which is part of THIS collection.  Josh also follows these forums periodically, so you can contact him with questions, suggestions, or tennis tips.

If you don't feel inclined to spend almost $100 for a single book you want/need in a collection, it is also available on Amazon for a pittance.

An old book: Herman Harrell Horne, Teaching Techniques of Jesus, Grand Rapids: Kregel, 1982 (1920).

Not exactly what you are asking for, but a great old classic is https://www.logos.com/product/392/the-training-of-the-twelve .

I saw that, but it's not in Kindle format. Did pick up his Jesus the Teacher: Examining His Expertise in Education and Jesus The Master Teacher, both from Amazon.

Using the Sense tagging I ran this search for a doctoral paper to find the places that the words of Jesus intersected with learning. It permits you to do your own observations and grouping
