There is a reason that several employees had signs in their office saying "Don't assume" when I was an IT manager.

Late August- Early September is when Bible Schools, Seminars, Sunday Classes start, new churches launch. That’s the best time to release L8, that’s why every 2 years FL does that.

If it's released on my birthday, do I get a free copy? No, not the free version.

Except for last cycle, they haven't! Here are the release dates (as best as I can decipher):

L6 was a surprise for us, shifting to a two year cycle. L7 was a surprise for us, coming out two months earlier than thought.

Here are the release dates (as best as I can decipher):

  • L4 - Nov 3 2009? (may have been earlier... the wiki isn't clear)

Thanks for the timeline, JT! Judging by the forum posts Logos 4 was officially released on monday November 2 2009 at 4:00 AM:

Logos 8 will only be interesting to me if it has good, new features.

One of the features I want is More workspaces open at the same time.

Well, if you think about it I’m already an FL connect member so all I’m waiting for is the L7 to change to L8 and find out what the new lineup of based packages have to offer.  So in a sense L8 is already here 😁

Honestly, I wasn't excited when L7 came out, and niether am I about L8.  I almost certainly won't buy a new package and data sets are not all that helpful to me.

I probably will.  They usually rejigger the contents of the base packages and offer a sale, so for me the rollout of new versions have provided an opportunity to expand my library at an attractive discount.

I'm going to have to wait to see. If I do buy anything, it will have to be incremental over a period of time so I stay within my now meager budget. On the other hand, I don't want to miss out on a good sale if it's something that's valuable to me. Like I say, wait and see.

Wait and see is always good advice.

Wiser advice than adding to the Word 😜 (he was probably joking, though...yeah, yeah, I believe he was 😁).

How many of you use 2 or more monitors? What size are they? It's something I'm thinking about.

I use two 22 inch monitors - and find that really useful.
