Updating Library Catalog

Whenever I search my library, I get the message at the top "Updating library catalog. List maybe incomplete." How do I bring that process to an end?

It should take a finite time.
Enable permanent logging Diagnostic Logging and upload your logs to the forum if that message is still showing.

Thanks, Dave. Here is the log file.
Was the message being shown during the search that was in those logs?
A screenshot showing the message and the search would help.
thanks,
Dave

The developers will look at the logs come Monday. Is there anything else you can recall that may help eg. when did it first occur like this?

I think it first occurred with 4.0c

After reviewing your log files, we have a possible workaround for this problem.
Please shut down Logos 4, open the "C:\Users\Randy\AppData\Local\Logos4\Data\byfy3ane.xhk\LibraryCatalog" folder in Explorer, and delete all the files except catalog.db.
We would be interested to know if Windows Explorer gives you any error messages or requests for elevation when you are attempting to delete the files.

Jacob, I'm sorry it took so long for me to get back to you. I just found your reply today. I don't know how I missed it before. I followed your instructions and that seems to have fixed the problem. I got no error messages or requests for evaluation from Windows Explorer when I deleted the files. The only message I got was the "are you sure you want to delete these files" question. Any idea on what caused the original problem? Thanks for your help.

Randy, I get that temporary message every time I do anything to update my Library -- most commonly when I add tags. If after adding a tag, I then quickly try to search my library for something, that message always shows up for a few seconds. But it goes away once the library update is accomplished. This is normal. Was it staying around for you all the time? If so, I too would be curious to hear from the Logos developers what can cause that to happen, in case it comes up with other users in the future.

Hi, Rosie. Yes, it was staying around all of the time for me. By the way, thank you for all of your helpful hints and information.
