Search problem or am I doing something wrong?
Search ‘heart’ in entire Bible in ‘King James Version’
787 hits all in the Old Testament (no hits found in New Testament)
But can read the New Testament in this version
This version has the interlinear
Search ‘heart’ in entire Bible in ‘the King James Version’
982 hits in the entire Bible
This version does not have the interlinear
Also if you HIDE a resource the file is removed from your machine not just hidden
Un HIDE it and the resource must be re-downloaded not just turned back on
The only thing that I can see is that "The KJV" is NOT interlinear, and "KJV" is.
That would account for small discrepancies but not "no hits in the NT...
Do you have "match case" turned on?

David Ames:Search problem or am I doing something wrong?
Check you "Match Case" and "Match all word forms" setting in the search tab. I search heart in both KJV and The KJV and both retruned 954 hits in 877 verses. Results ranged from Genesis to Revelation.

Hi David
I assume that:
(see bottom of "resource information" pane for these ids)
I have run a search for "heart" on both of these versions and get 830 results (across both Testaments) in both cases.
Can you say precisely how you are constructing your search?
EDIT: Following Fred and Robert, I had "Match case" on for my search which is why I got fewer hits than Fred.
Regarding hiding resources, what you describe is how it works. See http://community.logos.com/forums/p/16522/125280.aspx for a recent discussion of this.
Hope this helps

David Ames: Also if you HIDE a resource the file is removed from your machine not just hidden Un HIDE it and the resource must be re-downloaded not just turned back on
This is the way it is meant to work! Hide means "I have no use for this resource".

Search problem or am I doing something wrong? Part 2
Thank you for the advise - BUT
Found the tab to turn Match Case and or Match all word forms on
(it was hiding behind the arrow under the magnifying glass)
THE KJV is OK KJV is not
Search on ‘heart’ (without the ‘ marks)
Search all Bible Text in Entire Bible in All Open Bibles
With ‘THE KJV’ and ‘KJV’ as the only open Bibles [both at same time to grid]
Match all word forms was on but it and Match Case on or off has no effect on the NT results (and both on and both off)
At the moment no search in the NT works for KJV with interlinear [LLS:KJV1900]
with any combination of 'match all words' and or 'match case'
System is fully indexed
Search ALL Bibles lists THE KJV but not KJV to grid
David
I have reproduced your search as above and get the "correct" results - there are equivalent matches in both resources across both Old and New Testaments.
I think you say that any search - for any word - in KJV returns no results but that you can read it.
Does the Interlinear work in the NT or is that also blank?
LEt's assume the index is Ok.
In your Resource folder (remember it is Hidden) delete KJV1900.logos4, KJV1900NT.lbsrvi & KJV1900OT.lbsrvi. Restart L4 and the files should be downloaded. Report search results.
KJV Interlinear works in the NT
Hide KJV and removed the 1900 named files (per Mr Hooton request)
Waited for a while then Unhide KJV (1900) wait for reload – index over night
Still no search in the NT – system is NOT indexing
ALL other Bibles search ok
Thanks for the help – will use KJV for Interlinear and THE KJV for search of NT
David Ames:Still no search in the NT – system is NOT indexing
Dave you're going to need to explain things more clearly, because you're saying that indexing makes no difference and the files are OK!?
But to save too many words show us some screenshots of your searches that clearly show the bible name as well the main results line. One search in the NT only for each KJV version and one search in each KJV for All Passages.
As Mr. Hooton recomended in his post two back I removed the files from the system and let them reload - First time I still had the problem - Second time I waited 24 hours before unhiding the file - Now all ok - Thanks for the help
