Need help opening notes

Notes will not open on the desktop program.

It will not open when I click on tools. If I open a template that had notes open, I get an error saying that the panel cannot load.

How did you acquire L8? If you did not make a purchase but rather only had a FC Subscription which has since lapsed, that might explain the behavior shown.

Turns out that’s what happened. 

So be warned, an FC subscription, even if it is a free trial, could do big damage to your Logos library.

I tried to reinstall Logos, only to find out that it wouldn’t open without Logos 8 being installed. Customer support ended up helping.

For clarification: This particular issue won't be an issue once the free engine becomes available to all users.

You should be able to enter the command Set Prefer Notes Tool to No in the "Enter passage or search" box at the top of the main window. You will then need to restart the application. You should then be able to see your original Notes documents, although notes taken with the Logos 8 Notes tool will not be available. If you purchase Logos 8 at some point in the future, you can use Set Prefer Notes Tool to Yes to restore behavior to the Logos 8 default.
