How can I go back to the Logos 7 notes style? Logos 8 is much harder to work with for notes.

Hi Jody - and welcome to the forums

Jody:

How can I go back to the Logos 7 notes style? Logos 8 is much harder to work with for notes.

Enter the command "set prefer notes tool to no" in the command box

But please realise that the new Notes Tool is the one that will be developed moving forward.

Are there particular issues you are finding difficult with the new Notes Tool that we can help with?

Hi Graham,

Yes hopefully you can help us.  I've noticed several posters having similar issues with the new Notes app as myself.

As a method of study I've been using your program building collections of notes for years.  As a Thompson Chain user, I found their reference system great for comparing scripture with scripture for a given topic (like a good Berean Smile).  So I've used your Notes app to create many reference lists so that while reading a particular passage, I may have one or several notes that I can click on for a list of reference verses.  And now all of my notes, thousands of them, are organized in new Notebooks, which is great.  For example, I have a notebook titled Pride and the Proud with 65 references in it.

The problem is that it used to be that while reading the Word, if I came across a verse that I'd like to add to a particular note (now a notebook), all I had to do was open the note I wanted to add the passage to, highlight the passage, right-click, and I would be given the option to add the highlighted passage to the open note.  If I had several notes open, they would all appear in the pop-up window for me to easily add them to the note.

This is the functionality that many of us are looking for so we can continue to build our topical reference lists, our Notebooks efficiently.

Also, will following the above instruction to Jody allow me to add notes (references) to notebooks again like I described above?

Never mind Graham, I figured it out.  Sorry, I just had to play with it a little to find the new method.  With the notebook open that I want to add a note to, I now just highlight the passage and instead of right-clicking, I click "New Note", and it uses the reference as the anchor for the new note and I'm all set.

Thanks Graham!  Love your software!!!

Hi Ed - and welcome to the forums

Glad you have it working

And, just to clarify, I don't actually work for Faithlife - just try and help fellow users in using the software.

Graham
