For some reason I have a duplicate of the BHS Hebrew Bible SESB 2.0 version.

As shown in the information window, they have 2 different resource file names.

I believe this is duplicated because I had the older Stuttgart package with the Greek and Hebrew Bibles with critical apparatus. The upgrade to Logos 8 Platinum also includes this resource.

I know I can drag this older file to the Hidden Resources purgatory, but I am surprised that Logos created a new edition of the same resource. Are there any differences between the 2 resources?

Randy W. Sims:

Just to clarify: Is the one with an lbxlls file extension from Libronix and the one with the Logos4 file extension is the current Logos format? In such cases of duplication, should I always hide the Libronix file?

There are probably only a small number of such cases. While the file extension could be a strong indicator (or the date of last update), I personally would always look for an official statement in the forums which conforms that a version is deprecated. Otherwise you risk losing out on a subsequent update by Faithlife.

Also consider: every resource is on its own in terms of highlights and notes made by selection. Hiding the resource may make inaccessible relevant work you did some time ago and documented in relation to the resource (as in the rare cases where a former Vyrso/ebook resource is made into a full-fledged Logos resource: now hiding the ebook may be the right thing, but not if you marked up and noted in the ebook). Probably it's more prudent to change the title into "OLD: ....." and tag it as deprecated, but leave it in the library "just in case".
