Moving from 7 to 8 - Notes repetition/problem

I’m an old user going all the way back to Libronix.  Went ahead and upgraded from 7 to 8 yesterday but now my personal notes are showing up differently. Where they used to just show up with the initial first and a reference range they now repeat for every verse in that range.

 Went ahead and upgraded from 7 to 8 yesterday but now my personal notes are showing up differently. Where they used to just show up with the initial verse in a reference range they now repeat for every verse in that range.

For example, if the range was Chapter 2:4 -12 The note used to show up only before  verse four but now it shows up repeated before each and every verse in that range four, five, six, seven…

Is there a simple fix to this because it is creating a great deal of useless clutter?

Does this happen on new notes as well, or only on the migrated notes?

It looks like with the way it uses “anchors” now, instead of the old way where you just selected either “selection” or “reference range”, that it does. I’ve only been able to do it on the app because I’ve been out of town and don’t have my computer to test it on the desktop.

 I guess I’ll have to go in and change the notes that I have pointing at a range of verses one by one. 

Seems like a clunky change not sure what the benefit is supposed to be over the old way?

FWIW, I'm not seeing this on either macOS or iOS. Are you seeing this with new notes, Jack, or just with migrated ones from L7?

Good question, Reuben. The bug appears on both (desktop and iPhone). I made a fresh note on five verses, waited for a sync, and the note icon appeared on each verse in the range.

 Now that I’m on my desktop I’m seeing the issue a little more clearly. I don’t have the same repetition on my desktop it seems that I do on the app. I am including a photo below to give you an example of what I’m seeing on the app. Certain notes keep being repeated at every single verse even doubling up and showing up twice on verse one    

 The two notes in the square are the original and the two places I’ve circled them are the repetitions

I just did the same thing. I made a note on my desktop that covered three verses. On my desktop the note I can only shows up at the verse at the beginning of that range, but when it sent over to the app on my phone, the icon for the note pops up before every single verse in the range

Sam, please order the free Logos 8 Basic and allow Logos on your desktop to update.  

Then allow the app on your phone to sync, and send in your logs from your phone if your difficulty persists:

  1. Open the app.
  2. Tap the  Menu icon.
  3. Tap  Help.
  4. Press "Report a Problem"

A pre-addressed email will open with a log file attached automatically. Press "Send" to send your report. A technician will reply as soon as possible.

If you are still using the old Logos Notes tool on desktop, please switch to the new Notes Tool.  Instructions are available here under “Switching back”.

If the issue persists, please send in logs from your iPhone:

I'm using the new Notes tool on both desktop and iPhone. I previously removed and reinstalled Logos on my phone to make sure it was up to date, and I still see the same behavior. I send logs from my phone as requested.
