I know you can see approximates how long ago a note was created/modified (??), but is there any view that allows you to see the actual creation date and time?

I'm sure that metadata exists somewhere, but right now it is not viewable.

Simply hovering over the "friendly" date will display both creation and modification timestamps.

I never realized that. Thanks Reuben.

I never realized that.

It was added in 8.5 b2 (April 30) with the obscure release note "Improved the timestamp labels on notes."

That must be the reason I missed it. I tend to avoid the realms of obscurity. Wink

I took the liberty to modify the release notes to read:

  • Improved the timestamp labels on notes. (Hovering now displays the precise creation & modification timestamps.)

While I appreciate the intent, we generally discourage modifying release notes. Even among Faithlife employees, we try to limit edit rights on release notes to the handful of people who work on or directly with the software development team. That's the drawback of posting them on a public wiki, I guess.

Smile

I happen to agree with the way you characterized the improvement in this case, but in future please let us know when edits are needed, so there's no ambiguity on the authority of the release notes.

Thanks.

Sorry, Adam. I never saw an official statement and assumed that was part of the reason the wiki is no longer publicly editable (you have to be part of the Wiki editors FL group). That said, I instinctively knew better than to edit "current" release notes, but since I spent 30+ minutes searching for a feature I knew was there and the release notes were 3 months old I thought I was safe in "non-destructively" adding clarification. Thanks, though, for the policy heads-up! I'll just pester Philana next time. :-)
