This is with Logos 8.7 beta 4 on Windows 10

If, from the context menu, I click "Take a note" (instead of selecting a notebook from the dropdown menu)

a new instance of the Notes Tool is opened and the note is created without a notebook assigned.

Is this correct behaviour or should the (most recently used) open notebook be used?

This is a bug. The same bug was affecting the "Add Note" button in the selection menu. I assumed it's the same bit of code and didn't verify the fix for the context menu when the selection menu fix was added (8.7 b4).

That raises an "interesting" question. Do FL devs not believe in DRY coding, or is there another reason why there would be multiple pieces of code doing the same thing?

This is working as expected, the "Take a note" option will just add a note, to specify a notebook you need to expand and select the specific notebook.

Thanks Philana - good to get that clarified
