The name of Notebooks selected in the Notes tool show up in the context menu and also have their names in the tabs.

The name of Bible Books selected in the Notes tool do not show up in the context menu and do not have their names in the tabs.

Bible book is a facet (filter). It’s not a notebook.

It wouldn’t make sense for a filter to show up on the context menu, because you can‘t add a note to a facet like you can to a notebook.

Logos probably doesn’t display filters for the tab name because multiple filters can be selected, and there wouldn’t be room to display all of them.

I see now.  I was using the term "facet" in a general sense, thinking everything listed in the sidebar under "Filter" was a facet, including Notebooks.  Now I see that facets are specifically natural characteristics of the notes while notebooks are artificial containers where I can gather a set of related notes.

Is that the right way to consider facets and notebooks?

It’s accurate to think of facets as characteristics. A specific note can have many characteristics, but can only be contained in a single notebook.

A specific notebook wouldn’t be a facet, in the same way that a specific bible book wouldn’t be a facet. They’re items of their particular facet.

Notebooks are arbitrary, and optional. A note doesn’t even have to be in a notebook.
