Is there a way to search the tables of contents of the resources in my library? I'm looking for an easy way to find a document or treatise that is contained within a volume. For instance, say I'm looking for a treatise by Augustine. How do I find which of my resources have that. I may have multiple resources that contain for instance, the De trinitate. Schaff's NPNF, the Father's of the Church series, the Early Christian Writers series and others. How would I quickly locate this particular document. I have this trouble often looking for documents from Church History. I was thinking that if I could limit my search to the Table of Contents of resources, then I could more easily track things down.

The easiest way to find additional copies of a resource is through the context menu which is a shortcut to looking for the milestones in the document. If you aren't in a copy of the resource, use a basic search using "heading" rather than "all text".

Another field for article searching is Large Text

I once created a spreadsheet to make this easier. It would tell you that Augustine's De Trinity can be found at this link: https://ref.ly/logosref/Augustine.De_Trin and is available both in Schaff and FoTC (as well as CWS).

You can view the spreadsheet here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/kuw017iehu07j0s/Fathers.xlsx?dl=0

Mark,

This is a very nice spreadsheet. For some reason the link to the De trinitate doesn't work but others do. I had once thought of making such a file but have yet to do it because of the amount of time involved. I do this kind of search for documents often in my working with Logos, whether it is for classic works, the Church Fathers and beyond, Creeds and lots of other types of church documents and just thought it would take too long to put it all into a spreadsheet. You have made a good start to what I was thinking about. Thanks for sharing.

Tom

I also have a similar spreadsheet in progress - using a base from a deceased user.

The first time I clicked the link it didn't work. But then I tried again and it did. I have no idea why.
