Hi all,
There are historical reasons why we added the ability to download all of your resources at the tap of a button. We removed that functionality after we added the ability to bulk download in our new Library view (shipped earlier this fall).
All resources now automatically update when you are connected to wifi, which means the people who used bulk download in the past to update their resources no longer need to do that.
For the majority of users, bulk downloading a limited selection of resources meets their needs. If you download your resources as you need them, over time your stable of local resources grows. We even tried to make it easier to see what is downloaded or not via the faceted filtering in the Library. Use faceting to filter down to "Not Downloaded" and whatever subject you want. Then bulk select multiple resources (up to 100) to download.
We've heard from many of you that you enjoy being able to initiate a download of all of your resources at once. We hear that some of you really miss that functionality for a variety of reasons.
We hear you. We'd like remove the limits on what you can download and leave the decision up to you on whether or not you want to initiate such a download to your device. Devices have more storage than ever and you have to fill those drives up! :)
We'll remove the existing limit.
I don't have a timeline for you on when we'd ship this. It will take some design and technical work to get it right. Those on our beta channels will be the first to know when we are ready to roll it out.
In the meantime, you can select up to 100 resources at a time and download them in the library today.
Thanks Daniel. I wasn't even aware of bulk download.

Thank you Daniel! Can you tell us from FL/Logos' perspective... are there issues with downloading your entire library to a mobile device such as an iPad? If issues are present, is that something in the future FL/Logos will address? There have been arguments back and forth for a while now as to whether or not it is recommended for one to download their library to a device.
T-Bone:JT, you are making claims that FL has never explicitly declared.
T-Bone:Please share the posts where FL has explicitly declared that the Faithlife Mobile Reader apps are not designed to work well when ALL resources are downloaded.
As an example:
Joe McCune (Faithlife): Downloading all books in a single transaction is no longer supported, because doing so has caused many problems in the past. We don’t recommend that you download all Library resources, but only those resources that are absolutely necessary. Of course, you are free to download more than that, if you wish.

While we have recommended not downloading all of the resources in the past, moving forward our recommendation will be to download as many resources as you'd like.
Factors that will impact your experience:
When we remove the limit for downloading at one time (currently 100), we will work to support that feature and will actively address issues that come up to make it a great experience for you moving forward.

Awesome!

Thought I would followup. I picked an iPad Air with 256GB. Ordered it through Amazon and saved about $50 on it and got the keyboard for $100. Ordered a case Jetcase off of eBay for $11 instead of the Apple one which is about $40. Big splurge was 2 day delivery for $16. Very decent savings.
I just got it this afternoon. It's so blisteringly fast and very light. Feeling spoiled already.

Any updates as to when this functionality will be added? I'd really like to download everything onto my iPad and this limit of 100 resources is really cramping my style :)
We'd like to tackle this in 2020. We're looking at the work now and should be able to give a more specific timeline soon.
Happy new year!
