I was using F8 drawing mode feature and it's way too basic to say the least.  Almost useless if you're using a laptop with no mouse (especially when scrolling the mouse only changes to 4 colors and it gets tricky with a mouse pad).

I have found an awesome temporary fix for now.  It's called Epic Pen and it's free! (Premium version is also available).  It allows me to live mark up and highlight any screen, including Logos's screen while giving me the ability to switch Bible verses, and open other resources.

Is not perfect, but Logos could actually get some ideas from Epic Pen to improve their drawing mode.

In this area FL is being left behind by a major competitor, and in graphics in general.

Yep, I just posted about it in the "Where are the clickable infographics" thread found in the General section.

It's a total bummer that they ruined the infographics that were so much better in Libronix!

With Libronix they sort of had a chance against Accordance, now they don't even have a chance against Wordsearch; which is as pathetic as it gets for the so called "Cadillac of Bible Softwares!"

This sucks bad!

I would certainly agree it is time for an upgrade to the F8 drawing mode. Even if they can't cadillac it up front, they could add a few additional features (like a better color control than a scroll wheel) and (say) a pen width selection.

Of course, making Logos work with a touchscreen would be a BIG boost.

Just a little upgrade would be encouraging.

My thanks to the various MVPs. Without them Logos would have died early. They were the only real help available.

Faithlife Corp. owes the MVPs free resources for life.

Here’s what could be done with a better drawing mode feature:

I think it's more likely that further development effort in this area will go into the Canvas tool (which it needs).

I have no opinion on the matter but remember that Canvas is a third-party (open source?) tool.

I wish there was a nice training video on canvas.  As it is right now, I have no use for it.

MJ. Smith:

Not yet, but it seems the real-time drawing that I want is different than canvas. So I’m not sure it’s the same use.

No, it's not the same use. I was responding to your wish for training on Canvas.

MJ. Smith:

Thank you for this link. I have been trying to figure out how to use the Canvas Tool for a while now. I even posted something in the forums about it earlier this year. I believe this could be a really cool feature, for those that have a good imagination, unfortunately, I don't. But I have been thinking that this may be something that I could use to enhance my teaching. It appears this site will at least give me some more ideas of the capabilities this tool offers.

I believe(??) it would be more accurate to say that Canvas is built on a third party tool (draw.io). There are definitely features that are "in-house" so I think it's reasonable to expect some further improvements over time.
