The Origin of Evil Spirits: The Reception of Genesis 6:1-4 in Early Jewish Literature, Revised Edition

I think this was on logos before, but now I cannot find it in the store.

A quick web search did not pull up any digital options for the book. The publisher has a link to Logos for the book, but it takes you to the homepage.

A google search of the Logos forums does not pull up any hits, which means the book has not been discussed in the forums. The book, however, is listed as a source in The Unseen Realm.

I can't speak about the availability of the book other than that.

The publisher's link to Logos is what confuses me.

I saw your post, and rang a bell, but not bell for demons.

Then, I remembered:

I doubt Smith is in your preferences area, but I'm looking forward to it, primary surrounding info.

I know that some publishers have automatic links to Logos, which may or may not mean the book is actually in Logos. It is much simpler to create a system with automatic links than to have humans create the links for the sites with the books.

And you end up with a site like the current Logos website which is a huge waste of time because those links lead to "Sorry but we could not find what you are looking for maybe try searching for …." but their suggestion is exactly what I was looking for using their automatically generated links....

Never experienced such a rubbish web site form a company who is trying to sell product.  FL had a perfectly working website previously and then they went and changed it to this absolute piece of garbage that we have now.  Clearly they don't even bother checking if something works before dishing it up to customers of don't give two hoots as to whether it does work, its just all about somebody internal meeting project deadlines and getting it signed off.

Fortress Press is the one that made the link, not Logos. It's their fault, not Faithlife's.

Well, Disciple II, you're in fine form. But I'd argue the old Home Depot site, and old Walmart site were in in serious competition with the new Logos site.

I assume FL's trying to unload marketing costs (one form factor), automate the process (dump publisher fields into page sections), and then layer it with mindless popups (like robot calls, surely someone will bite).  My guess (and only a guess) is they've max'd out the market.

Why am I seeing so much rhetoric lately?

I am not talking about Fortress Press website, I am talking about FL website and automatically generated links that I suspect they are using, because if a person is coding this rubbish Bob Pritchett (if he is still at the company) needs to pull his bok Fire Someone Today and act upon it.

Just sick of having issues evertime I try to find something on the Logos site. Not being from US I‘be never used those companies websites and not familiar with the product quality but I get the impression it’s cheap so what could you expect of user experience experience.

FL product is not cheap so I expect much better than what they are dishing up. They have wasted money on what remains in my experience the worst website I have come across for a company trying to sell product - they need to make it easier not harder to find what you want.

The quality of what you are seen is a result of what FL dishes out. They are trying to get their finger in every aspect of church life but do not have the Finanical resources to do that and so their core business, what they used to do well is suffering.

Next time you're running into issues trying to find something, start a new thread and post a specific example of what you're trying to find, along with a screenshot showing what you tried.

It's easier to get help and/or store issues fixed if people can see exactly what you tried.

1. I was responding to a point raised by JT, a point that I suspect is relevant to why the website now is a shadow of what it previously was for many years before the latest changes.

2. I have raised a thread on another issue with the ’new’ web site in the appropriate forum when it was convenient at the time to do so, but it is not always convenient to do so. I have been posting on these forums and the usernet newsgroups before them so know how it works.

3. The solution is not a mystery, all it requires is FL to ensure links are built in a manner consistent to the way search constraints need to be constructed in order to return the correct results, this is not happening currently.

4. As noted above it is not always convenient to post a new thread with full details of issue. Currently I am on train travelling to work. I will try to post an example in a new thread in the appropriate forum but I require FL to fix the broken website rather than suggestions on work arounds that excuse a poorly implemented web site.

Yes, it's kind of odd. From what I can see, all the Fortress resources have the same link-menu, and 3 links have ISBN refs (which I assume would generate  either no-can-do, or alternative choices). The one for Logos.com has no ISBN linkage. I don't know if Logos.com responds to an ISBN.

Whether a 'fault', I'm not sure. A sophisticated receiver ref would look for near hits, a plus? Though, the menu implies 'available at'.
