Clippings Limitation (Can't clip content from footnote?)

I don't think I've noticed this problem before.  Tonight I needed to send some content from a resource footnote to a clippings file, and I was surprised to find no option for doing so.  After selecting the text I can get options for copying the text, highlighting it, etc, but not for sending to a clippings document.  Have we always had this limitation, and is there any hope if it getting fixed?  An example appears below:

FWIW, I'm running L8.10 SR-2 (8.10.0.0034) on a MacBook Pro running Mac OS 10.14.6.

That has been a limitation on footnotes for years.

Thank you, MJ.  I appreciate the confirmation.  That's really unfortunate, given how much important content is located in the footnotes of many resources.
