Hi everyone,

Sorry if this has been asked before (or I'm just being stupid!), but I can't seem to add anything but lemmas of hebrew verbs to word lists!

What I'm essentially trying to do is pick out common verb roots that are weak (hollow, III-hey, I-yud/waw etc) and to put them into a word list in the variety of forms they appear in.

When I select a verb (I've picked one at random), and search for all the different forms through the morph search (as seen below) I get what I initially want: all the different forms of the verb.

When I click "save as a word list" I don't get the column "result" added, but only the lemma, which obviously there is only one (as shown below)

Does anyone know how to add the forms that are pulled from the search, not just the lemma?

Thanks in advance!

Welcome Lawrence!

You can add any information you want into the fields Section, Card Front, Gloss and Count of the word list, if you are doing it manually.

Making longer lists of forms etc. is not the designed usage of this kind of documents: The Word Lists are meant to be used with the lemma. So we're working in an only partially supported area of Logos here. Nevertheless, if you can get your information into e.g. a spreadsheet column, you may copy this and use "add ... from clipboard" to fill the Card Front field with any such content - including various grammatical forms of a lemma (those Logos can recognize as a lemma will have the Lemma and Gloss column automatically filled, and Audio for the lexical form, too - I just checked with the various forms of λόγος ). Unfortunately, you'll need to fill the Gloss fields manually.

(There used to be an import routine for documents, including Word List documents that accepted XML files, thus allowing more fully customized lists. It was a leftover from Libronix/Logos 4 migration. But nearly no users were actually interested in that, the implementation was buggy and the import functionality has been discontinued some time ago)

Running Logos 9 latest (beta) version on Win 10

Thanks for the reply Nick!

I think you've given me the idea of how to do this. I've exported the search into Excel, and I should from there be able to paste those columns as you outlined above, into a word list, having removed any duplicates. The parsing info is already given, so all I really need to do is work through and give the gloss for a given form.

It's a bit of a workaround and potentially a bit of a pain, but that's fine, it's quick than manually typing things out through Quizlet or some other program. It'll also give me the ability to work through any of the actual forms (rather than potential forms) encountered in the HB.

Thanks again!
