Hi all and thanks again.

With day #28 of total lock-down in South Africa, I have time to everyday learn more about Logos can do. This really is an excellent tool.

So, I have just discovered that I have also "Bible studies" in my library. (Wish I knew this a couple of years ago.)

  1. How do I search for all my Bible study books? I have just discovered "Not Your Average Bible Study".
  2. I want to find and categorise all my Bible studies. Is it better to create a Collection, "Bible studies" or Series, "Bible studies".
  3. I need these Bible to be found by Bible text, the same as with commentaries.

Thank you for your help. I am learning a lot with all your help.

Not Your Average Bible Study resources designated as commentaries. As such they will show up in your Passage Guide under such. If you prioritize them they will show up higher in the listing. If you create a collection of them, then you can add another commentary section to the passage guide and set it to only show resources from that collection.

I do not recommend you use series for what you are trying to do.

Other bible studies may be designated as monographs. Those you would put in a collection as well and you can add that to your Passage Guide. The only difference is the passage guide will find where the verse you are studying is used anywhere in the resources, not as milestones as a commentary does.

If you need screenshots, post back and I will try and walk you through the process or provide a link to some training.

Another tool you may want to consider learning about is the the Cited By tool. Below are a few links to help get you started. I think this tool is much underrated and I include it in almost all my layouts.

It is a tool that you can customize with your collections to automatically search for the verse in your library. By customizing it with collections or tags you can use it to get to resources in your library you may otherwise miss.

I use it to find material in my bible studies that are designated as monographs, but I have put into a collection.

Thanks John.

Is there a way to have logos show all my Bible studies? Neither type:"Bible study" nor type:"Bible studies" return anything.

Most are going to be monographs if they are not already designated commentaries. That means you will need to created a rule for your library to tag them or set up a collection. There may be some collection rules at https://faithlife.com/logos-collections/documents which may get you started.

Here is a screenshot:

Appreciated, John.  This is not a tool I've really used. Will look into it.  anything that allows me to use my resources is to be prized and utilized...as it expands, gets harder and harder to appreciate without proper set up to maximize utilization.

I like Apples.  Especially Honeycrisp.

Deon, there is also a list of the Bible Studies in Logos that someone(s) have put together. Your should be able to find it here:

https://community.logos.com/forums/t/65323.aspx. It has been updated several times over the years, so you might want to go to the latest postings. It is a file that can be made into a personal book.
