After updating to 4.0d and downloading 2.12GB of resources, and after indexing is completed, startup L4.0d with blank layout. When I try to open NASB95, KJV or ESV, it crashes. I tried NIV, its ok until I clicked the Interlinear button.

Anyone has the same experience?

well mine is not syncing right now, not sure but it definitely has to do with 4.0d since I have not had this prior to updating which I just did.

Gerard

I am able to open these resources without producing a crash. I googled your crash error there was only one other case of this type of error. It occured back in 4.0b. Unfortunately the OP for that thread never posted how the suggested solutions worked out, so there is no way to tell what worked for him.

In the thread I mention above it was suggested that a resource may have become corrupted in some way. If that is the case that resource can be deleted from the resource folder and should download when you restart. But that is not necessarily the problem here and I don;t recommend doing anything until one of the Logos team can review your log. I am sure Melissa or one of the others will jump on this thread tomorrow a.m.

emilio,

are you saying you have the same problem? If so enable diagnostic logging and post your crash log on this thread. This will help the developers to see what is going on.

Gerard, I don't have anything more to add than what Fred suggested. I think this one is a problem that Logos needs to look at. You should call Tech Support during their business hours (phone number and hours posted on logos.com home page).

Emilio, you might want to change your forum display name so that spam-bots don't pick up your email address. Here's how:

Although I haven't found the solution yet, thanks for the help. Appreciate the fact that it is not a general Logos problem. My faith in Logos is still strongBig Smile

Development recommends right-clicking the Logos4.msi file, located in this path on your computer, D:\Logos4\Install\Installers, and choosing Repair to resolve this crash.

Gerard, please report back here if Melissa's suggestion solved your problem, so we MVPs can learn from it and know what to suggest to others in the future. Thanks!

Logos Tech support gave me the following and it worked beautifully:

Move the Data, Users, and Documents folders of \Logos 4\Data\subfolder\ to a temporary folder on the same drive:

Now, perform a normal uninstall via Control Panel>Programs and Features (XP=Add/Remove Programs). Next, let’s reinstall.

Go to the Logos4\Install\Installers folder (for me it was C:\Users\Gerard\AppData\Local\Logos4\Install\Installers) and run the .msi files manually. Starting with the Logos4Prerequisites.msi and then the Logos4.msi.

Once the installation has finished DO NOT OPEN LOGOS 4! Be sure to put the 3 folders on the Desktop back in the Logos4 folder. This is very important to avoid re-indexing.

Now that the folders are back, open Logos 4 normally and it should come right up, no indexing required and 4.0d installed.

********

I did the above procedure on my other computers with Logos 4 installed and it worked as well. It is actually a good way to reinstall Logos 4. Never had any crash since.Wink

However Melissa's suggestion seems to be the fastest but I didn't try it because I got mine working before I saw her post. Because I didn't see any others having the same problem, I didn't post the above procedure.

Thanks Rosie for your suggestion to call Tech Support. I desperately needed a solution then though I'm serving in China and there is that inconvenient time zone difference.

Thank you!  This worked like a charm.  I was experiencing the same problem after installing L4 on a new laptop.  After the repair, it sync all my 'stuff' and I'm happy again.
