Audio book on desktop

What is the procedure for listening to an audio book on Desktop and/or Web App? I get the message "We couldn't access the media you're trying to play. etc." I'm able to download the chapters, but can't get any further. No problem with my Mobile App. I can't figure out the basics of where to begin.

I'm using Windows 10, Groove is my player.

I open the book in the library and select play. What are your steps for the desktop.

I don't think you need to use an external player in L8. It should play right from within Logos if you open the book.

Which specific version of the app are you using? Did you download the resource first?

I'm on the latest Desktop, 8.13.0.0008, yes, when I click on the download, it switches to the delete option. I still get the screen above. I tried another User ID and that didn't work either. Mobile Ed audio works. Windows Media Player was not installed. I'm going to reboot and see what happens.

Thanks, JT. This is really frustrating. No change. I notice on the panel: Information: Devices, that my desktop isn't listed, all my other devices are there. Should my desktop be there?

A screenshot might help. 

But... to ask the standard windows question: "Did you turn it on & off again?" Try a reboot of your computer and see if anything changes.

It's like the app can't find audio files, but works fine with mobile ed. I'm going to try playing an audio file from a mobile ed course.

I played the course ED121 OK, and then tried to play the audio file only. Same error as before. As I said before, the books play fine on my Samsung android phone. Maybe it time to get CS involved?

Add on: Read Aloud works OK on bibles, but not on Audio Books. Not sure if that's relevent or not.

That is for mobile devices only. That section has not been implemented to control desktop installations. The other "devices" section (in the left sidebar) should contain your desktop installations as well.

I experience the same problem you're describing when trying to play Coronavirus and Christ (Audio) on Windows (Logos 8.13). I'll raise the problem with the team.

My problem was caused by not having some DirectX components installed; these would normally be installed by the Logos 8 installer. I think we will need logs to diagnose the problem on your computer.
